I have been using hotels.com for more than a decade. I have never experienced issues like this on any prior reservation.
First, I expect to receive an email with the details of the location (directions, door codes, etc.) 24 hours prior to the check-in. I did not receive anything. So, I called. She said it should have been sent and that she then sent it again. After a while, still not having received it, I called again. The gentleman I spoke with sent it to me (again) and offered to stay on the call until I received it. He handled it to my satisfaction. However, I never should have had to call in the first place, and certainly not twice!
Second, once I received the driving directions, they were wrong! The roads to take were correct, But, at nearly every juncture, the direction to turn (left or right) was incorrect. It felt like someone was playing an April Fool’s joke on me. Fortunately, Google Maps brought us to the correct location.
Once finally at the condo unit, the unit was lovely, just as advertised. It was a very pleasant stay.
This reservation was through “Grand Welcome”. I plan to avoid reserving any location managed through this company in the future.
