Dolphins, turtles, pelicans etc easy to spot and that’s the main drawcard, but there simply aren’t enough dining facilities for the number of people they have staying, especially when you consider that there are no alternatives close by!

An ok stay but not really what we were after

This was an ok stay. Didn’t realise that it was more of a holiday park than a hotel but that was my lack of research so was a bit disappointed at the setup and general vibe of the place. The room was basic but ok and surprisingly quiet given we were close to the bar. Very clean, so no complaints there. Steps down to beach from outside our room had dog excrement well placed at the top so you had to be careful to go around it! I would have thought that would have been checked regularly.

My room itself was excellent but it was upstairs and right next to the tavern. At 75yo I wasn’t asked if I was okay going up and down stairs all day. I was expecting a quiet room but from 4pm to 10pm noise pollution reigned and the gate allowing access to beach and tavern banged all day. I actually had to help some other guests get their luggage up the stairs. Large groups in coaches filled the camp kitchen and made it difficult to cook. I had to eat standing up. I wished I had never requested an extra day because it was a disastrous stay.

If I was going to the resort for some reason other than to see the dolphins, I wouldn't bother. If going to the resort to see the dolphins, better option to stay in Denham and pay the day entry fee. Think it expensive for what it is - from the rip off fee per person per day to enter to noisy rooms, not enough towels, 45 minute wait to get meal, terrible room lighting. By the way, saw more dolphins in action late in the day than lining up with the crowd in the morning. Almost saved by lovely sunset cruise - but could have done that from Denham as well. No, won't be recommending this to anybody

I don't think this property can be classified as a "resort". Although we did not stay in their "luxury" accommodation, firstly, the door to our room was stuck and difficult to open and close. Then there were broken furnishings in the room; such as chips in the table and cracks and holes in the walls. The curtains were unhinged from their hooks and the swivel on the air-conditioner was broken so it didn't work. The overall cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired. Then the dining options - the Boughshed was 'average' at best, and the Monkey Bar was just dirty! The sitting area was covered in seagull poo and the we have to clean the seats ourselves. Even the seating inside looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a while. The photos don't reflect what the property is really there. To say we were 'disappointed' is an understatement.
