Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Property was clean; bed was very comfortable. Good climate control. Nice shower products. Excellent location with great rooftop views. Rooftop restaurant and small pool were great for a cool-down. I was nervous when I read other reviews about noise making them a bad neighbor, but I stayed on a Wednesday and the slight ambient sound from (presumably) the rooftop restaurant concluded by 11pm.

Here for a long weekend. Location is perfect. The staff were great. The rooms are clean (my room was a little on the small side). Good aircon. Nice view form rooftop. My shower never ran hot, lukewarm at best, but as it was so hot outside it was OK

Nice hotel, great location at the entrance of Old San Juan. Clean and pretty. Staff is not the friendliest. They don't have a concierge but when asked to help with information about tours throughout the island, not very helpful at all. The reply was too look on the internet. Walls are thin so one can hear a lot of noises. Cocktails on the rooftop are underwhelming and they have weird rules about clothing or lack thereof in the pool area.

I stayed at Alma Hotel this past weekend with my 13-year-old daughter. We checked in Thursday at 4PM and left Sunday at 4AM. The room had no windows. It felt dark, claustrophobic, and stuffy, with no way to get fresh air. The layout was awkward, without enough closet space for two people, no chair, and only one side of the bed had a nightstand, light, or outlets. They also put us in one of those “combined” rooms with a double door to the next unit. We could hear every move and every word from the people next door—it felt like we were sharing a room with strangers. During the three days and three nights we stayed there, no one ever came to clean. By Saturday we were running out of toiletries. I asked and was told rooms were cleaned daily and someone would come right away. That never happened - the bathroom was never cleaned, the bed never made and the sheets never changed, and even the garbage was never emptied (I did that myself, especially since remember the room had no windows.) Some staff were polite, but there was a general lack of warmth or attention. Also Hotels.com listed a bottle of wine as a perk. That never showed up either. For a roughly $370 per night price tag, I expected much better. I found the whole place pretentious and overpriced. Basic services weren’t delivered, and frankly, we should have been offered some kind of adjustment. Without even a gesture from the hotel to acknowledge that, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Me encantó la ubicación del hotel frente a plaza Colón y contiguo al Castillo de san Cristóbal en el Viejo San Juan, el rooftop con una vista muy linda, puedes ver el amanecer 🌄 si deseas, la habitación en que me hospedé muy espaciosa, me encantó super cómoda, los muchachos de la recepción tan amables todos, muy satisfechos con el hotel, tienes cafeterías al lado y restaurantes para comer, es un excelente hotel.

Hotel Alma was in an awesome location for Old San Juan exploration. We were hoping to have a room with two beds and windows but weren’t that lucky when we checked in. The rooftop pool was a perfect escape from the heat.

Beds very comfortable, interior design and staff really nice. Early check-in was available at noon. roof deck was pretty, but pool is really just a fountain. Very nice bathroom and room. Expensive room had no natural daylight, no window whatsoever. Fancy built in clock in the bathroom mirror was not programmed, no way to see whether it was stay or night when you woke up. No phone to access front desk, no feminine hygiene products available on site. (super nice front desk attendant shared one of her personal stash with us.) Bed’s automatic lighting, triggered by motion, too bright, would wake up other sleeper. No hooks for towels or clothes in bathroom, faucet spills over onto the bathroom counter. With a few tweaks, this would be a great place to stay!

The Alma is a closely held gem of a secret. It's unassuming front door opens up to a surprisingly quaint hotel with dining options inside. The rooms are updated and cozy. However, we did not have a window to the outside so there is no sunlight at all. At least not in the room we had. Nevertheless the rooms are clean and the bed is comfy. THE SURPRISE PERK is the spacious rooftop with a restaurant. A beautiful view of the fort ruins and walkable to Port 4 Virgin Cruises. Worth every penny.
