This hotel was very reasonably priced for expensive Edinburgh. 20 mins by bus to the train station. Walking distance to the Royal Yacht. The staff were very friendly. No included breakfast, but they were a few complimentary breakfast items in the lobby, which we made use of. The room was very clean.

It's a great hotel/hostel, very clean and cosy. The only negative (other than street parking) was the traffic noise that I could hear at great volume in my room. All the other rooms were further from the road so it might not be as bad in those. Ear plugs are provided but I don't work well with them so wasn't able to sleep well on the first night. I was knackered on night two so that was a much better night's sleep! The location is great, lovely pub close by and a superb chipper run by locals that does pizza and kebabs too. Try the Hoggie, it's ace!

Edinburgh is very over priced when it comes to hotel rooms. I managed to get this room quite cheap so expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. All the things that you want to be good were good. VERY CLEAN (room and linen) although a shared bathroom, it was a very clean and spacious one. Very very friendly staff. The room furniture was dated a little, but judging a chest of drawers holds no point, as long as it is clean and not broken. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place to stay, it was room only, very clean tidy and spacious. Lovely and warm. Tea coffee water in room for you. Reception open 10-6pm 11am check out f early post room key in box. They give you tokens for breakfast with two cafes to get 10% discount. We used Yo Yo’s 3 minute walk from hotel. Absolutely delicious, very friendly staff and lovely menu and service. Will return.

I had a great stay at 4 Friends. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Loved the location - 4 Friends is perfectly situated for exploring Leith. Would definitely stay at 4 Friends again.

Die Unterkunft ist super günstig im Vergleich zu den restlichen Hotels in Edinburgh und absolut ordentlich, ruhig und hat nettes Personal. Das Haus ist hellhörig, aber alle halten sich an die Nachtruhe. Das Bad, das außerhalb des Zimmers liegt, ist sauber, gut erreichbar, ohne jemandem zu begegnen. Man fühlt sich zu jeder Zeit sicher dort. Die Umgebung ist urban, ein Randgebiet und hat keine Sehenswürdigkeit, aber die Stadt ist innerhalb von 20 Minuten mit dem Bus erreichbar.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff were so incredibly friendly, it was easily accessible from the city centre by the number 7, 14 or 11 buses and it’s quiet. The bed was super comfy and all other amenities were excellent. I was pretty jet lagged so I appreciated coming to this quiet area and resting. Thank you for everything and I will for sure be back!

The location was really comfortable and spotlessly clean! There is a bus stop right outside with easy access to the town center and all activities. I really liked it there a lot and will certainly stay there again whenever I am in Edinburgh again. Moreover, the people who run this location are so very helpful and kind, it feels like you are visiting family!
