Unfriendly staff and not safe feeling

We were very excited about staying at the Acadia Ocean View Hotel but were extremely disappointed. The location was lovely, the view was stunning, the bed was fine, the room was generally clean, and the wifi worked. Those were the positives. The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful (they didn't greet us when we checked in or out, never offered any assistance with recommendations, didn't ask us how our stay was) - they seemed extremely unhappy to be there. The door to our room, which was open to the outside had no deadbolt (see images), the chain lock was attached to a piece of door framing that was coming off the wall (see images), and it felt very unsafe. The bathroom was awful - it felt like a cheap motel bathroom and could easily have been a lot nicer, especially since there was so much empty space in the room - they could have expanded the bathrooms slightly. I had noted that breakfast was included - when we went at 7:30am the coffee was empty and the front desk staff had no interest in assisting with refilling. It was a very disappointing experience and I would not stay here again, or recommend it to anyone else.

This was their last day open for the season and it was operating like it was opening day. Staff was friendly and room was spotlessly clean. Location is snug with delightful view of the water and mountains. We will be returning for a longer stay!

Basic Hotel close to Acadia

We had a very short 1-night stay for a quick trip to Acadia National Park. The hotel was a good location for entrance to Acadia. Front desk staff was not friendly or helpful. The room was very basic which was just what we needed but small if you have large luggage. We found spiders and spider webs in the lamp shade. The included breakfast was very minimal-a few muffins, oranges and a few packets of cereal-items including the juice were out but they did not seem interested in refilling. This hotel also has an earlier than normal check out time of 10 am. Also for a note there is no EV charging stations at this hotel.

Beautiful Views and Nice Room

Check in was quick and easy. We had a 2nd floor King Ocean view room. Spacious and very nicely decorated. Large balcony and beautiful view. No elevator, not a problem for us, but maybe for others. Comfortable bed and nice linens. We would definitely stay here again.
