The staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful throughout my stay — even those who didn’t speak English did their best to assist.
Negatives
The do-not-disturb sign I left on the door most mornings seemed to be ignored several times.
The reception shown on the website looks nothing like the actual entrance to the hotel, which was confusing on arrival.
The Wi‑Fi in my room was essentially unusable; I was given different explanations by staff, but it really affected my evenings when I just wanted to relax online.
There’s no lounge or bar area to sit in, which felt quite unusual for a hotel.
One evening I heard a guest’s dog barking, and overall the noise levels were high — single‑glazed windows and poor sound insulation meant I could hear a lot from outside and neighbouring rooms.
The bathroom was extremely small, barely enough space to turn around, and the basin didn’t have a plug, so everything had to be done with running water.
Positives
The location is excellent — close to the railway station and only a short walk from the centre of Modena.
The staff were consistently friendly and genuinely tried to help wherever they could.
Breakfast was fine, though the variety was limited and there was no hot food.
