Hampton Inn Woodstock, VA – Pros and Cons PROS: - Great location, near several restaurants, gas stations, highways and recreation. - Beautiful scenery - the mountain views in this area are gorgeous!! - The indoor heated swimming pool and hot tub were both the perfect temperature, clean, large, and relaxing. - The free continental breakfast included hot waffles (regular and blueberry flavors), scrambled eggs, and sausage as well as cold options such as cereal, juices, yogurts, and muffins. - Large lobby and breakfast area. - End of street, quiet location - In-room fridge - Clean – the room furnishings, floors, bathroom and bedding were clean. CONS: - They are under “renovation” and the construction workers / equipment takes up several parking spaces that would have otherwise been available. - The “finished” construction work in the rooms is not really finished. The carpet, tile, shower and vanity were new (and look nice), but several wall and floor trim and edging were missing, showing bare drywall and other noticeable unfinished construction. The wallpaper was still the “old” wallpaper and was peeling off the walls. I’m not sure why they didn’t complete an entire room before moving on to the next. - The lobby, breakfast area, pool and hot tub all seem to be finished. We would stay at this hotel again for the indoor hot tub, pool, free continental breakfast, and location.

Breakfast was ok. One person trying to cook and restock. Definitely needs help. Parking was fine. Shouldn’t have been informed that there was renovations going on near our room the smell was awful. No hot water in our room. Had to switch to another room at 10 pm. Still no hot water in the new room. Maintenance came in the morning to fix but still wasn’t hot just warm.

Under renovations (which are needed!). The hot tub timer/jets did not work. It was not piping hot but adequate. The pool was nice. From our fourth floor room, you could hear traffic. The t.v. was on a dresser along the same wall as the bed so hubby had to pull the dresser out from the wall to be able to watch t.v. while in bed. Breakfast was typical fare. Lobby is good.

Loved our stay. I love their breakfast, comfortable environment, and swimming pool. Staff are very kind. I wished the pool was little warmer, the water was too cold and one of family member ended up getting sick. Also, I wished the room carpet was cleaner. But overall, it was a great stay with our young family and a dog. I can't wait to come back when they finish the renovation!

The front desk was trying to be helpful but we got an email to check in through the App and not having experience with such check in, we were having issues checking into our second room booked. The front desk mentioned that the App was managed separately from the hotel so they couldnt provide much help. Ultimately we were able to figure it out but weren't able to figure out the digital keys and had to visit the front desk regardless upon our late arrival in which we waited for someone for a bit. Aside from that upon entering the room, it seemed clean enough but we found hair and dust on the table leading me to believe it may not have been wiped down between guests and a stinkbug appeared on the chair at one point. It happens but...still not something you want to happen during your stay.

The room was definitely neglected to be specific the sheets, pillowcases and towel quality was very poor. The towels were very rough and the sheets had holes in them. If you are choosing this hotel for the pool or Jacuzzi, don't waste your time here. The pool looked murky, and the Jacuzzi is not hot. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, they gave me a bunch of excuses about a sensor not working and they have been trying for so long and it's still not working. The breakfast buffet is gross. Very disappointed because we came here for New Year's eve to relax and was really hoping to utilize the Jacuzzi and Pool, but was not able to. The sign on the wall that shows when it was last maintenance showed December 6 and when I told the front desk lady, she said that the maintenance guy most definitely had to have maintenance it because she saw him walk from that direction LOL Poor Excuse. If he did maintenance it why couldn't he post on the wall that he maintenance it instead it was from December 6. I hate to complain, but it seems like they are doing the bare minimum here at this hotel. Should be called a motel. AND THE VENT FOR THE HEAT DIDN'T CLOSE. I HAVE PICTURES 😅
