There is always no staff at the reception. You need to ring a bell and wait as they are to busy serving at the restaurant or bar. I emailed as I left something behind, but there is no response so far. Though the view is good at the backyard.

Totally surprised. We hit off season so room was very economical, just no fridge but for one night it didn't matter. We had dinner and it was above expectation, stick with recommended venison and whitebait and you will have a great meal. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

This was a heritage motel near Haast. As we drove up it looked a bit dated but when inside we were pleasantly surprised. The interior was rustic and open, the bar was long and well stocked, the food served was good and came in large size, the breakfast was buffet style the choice was large from cold to hot service. The room was standard motel type but exceptionally clean, the large bed comfortable and well equipped. Bathroom was large and the shower excellent. Staff helpful and friendly and a launderette on site.

Overnight stay here before we travelled over the Haast Pass. Old style hotel in large grounds. Suitaed our needs for one night. Clean & comfortable. Good bar and restaurant.

Me suis arrêté à Haast pour éviter de faire de grandes distances. Il faut parler de motel plutôt que d'hôtel car sur une grande partie de l'établissement, le parking est directement accessible depuis la porte fenêtre.. Situé à l'écart d'un minuscule village, il n'y a que ce motel avec un restaurant et une station service. La chambre est petite, si l'on est en couple difficile de se mouvoir dans la chambre et ce d'autant plus si 2 grosses valises vous accompagnent. Par contre j'y ai très bien dormi (plus de 9 h de sommeil.!!) malgré la proximité du parking.

The property was in beautiful location, the bar/cafe was convenient. Great car parking and we were lucky to have a picnic table outside our room.The water dripping out of toilet into a bucket was a concern, as was the noise of the bathroom fan.
