I believe the Paddington Residences listing was misleading and materially misrepresented the accommodation I booked.
When I booked in November, the Expedia listing showed multiple positive reviews and a rating of 8.0 or higher. That rating and review profile were a major reason I chose the property for my family. By the time we checked in, those positive reviews were no longer visible and the property appeared to have a much lower review profile, with only negative reviews remaining. Had that been the rating and review picture shown when I booked, I would not have booked this property.
The photos also did not match the accommodation provided. The unit we received was not simply worn or different in style; it was dirty, poorly maintained, and not in the condition represented online. The freezer was broken, there was no hot water, the shower handle was broken, the grout was mold-filled or badly mold-stained, the carpet had major stains, and there were marks or substances on the walls and doors that looked like blood or feces. The bathrooms and showers looked like they had not been properly cleaned.
This was not a minor discrepancy. The listing created the impression of a clean, functional, well-reviewed property suitable for a family stay. The actual accommodation was materially different from that representation. I relied on the photos, rating, and reviews when booking, and those representations directly affected my decision to stay there.
