Extremely handy to Virginia Mason medical complex. It is across from Inn at Virginia Mason, where The Rho cafe serves Mon-Fri 7am-9m - with friendly service, good food, super handy. All hotel staff from front desk to room cleaners were very friendly, helpful, efficient. Recommend this as a good place to stay for medical travel as well as just visiting Seattle.

I stayed there to be in close proximity to a friend who had surgery at Virginia Mason Hospital - was convenient (across the street from the hospital); felt safe in the area around the hospital (but never went more then 2 blocks away); the furniture was dated and a bit worn; the room was clean; shower was hot

Honestly I wasn’t sure if I would like this place. We went to super-cross at the Lumen field and this was the only cheaper hotel that was near by. I was worried it would smell old or maybe feel dirty, but my boyfriend and I both loved it here. It was older, but it didn’t smell old, and it was clean. The front desk was closed but it was a short walk directly across the street to check in. The elevator had a door to get into it, that was pretty cool. The room was large! We had a full sized fridge, a microwave, a stove, an oven, a living room, bedroom and a bathroom. The room also came with a fan. We opened up the window at night as it was a bit warm in our room, that cooled it down. I would 100% stay here again. It was around 1.5 miles or less to the lumen field. It wasn’t a bad walk. I’m glad we found this place, much cheaper than other nearby hotels!

Felt like a step back in time to the 1930's! Even the elevator was a classic. Very comfortable, clean, and attractive. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy and convenient parking. Great food across the street and many good options less than a block away. Also, a perfect spot for visiting the adjacent hospital.

Very vintage...in a dated way. Beds were very comfy! In order to get fresh air, we had to open windows...but very noisy...trash collection is EARLY! Room fan is provided.

Very old/outdated rooms. Smelled like someone had smoked in the room or on the furniture for decades. Beds were thankfully clean. No AC but plenty of windows. Kitchen appliances looked like they were from the 60’s as did the bathroom and furniture.

They said up front that it doesnt have air conditioning, that and there are no commodities. Other than those two, it is a cool hotel in a nice area. Very clean and the staff was really nice. I had a great stay.

Very cool old hotel. Was clean and affordable. No AC so it was a bit warm but they did provide fans. Would stay there again. Only issue was lack of parking. They have a pay lot behind the hotel but it was full so had to find another parkade and walk up a huge hill with our luggage. And not a lot of food options nearby

Expectational value while visiting Virginia Mason

The room was well kept. The staff was very friendly. Check in was a bit difficult because the front desk at the Baroness was not staffed. You had to cross the street to check in at "The Inn", which is a sister property. This meant either carting your luggage with you to another building, or having someone wait with the luggage while someone else checked in across the street. It's a minor annoyance. Due to the property being in a downtown location, there is a lot of activity nearby, including in the middle of the night. My wife was awakened twice in the middle of the night - once by a mentally ill homeless person who was screaming at no one in particular and a second time by a couple having an argument. Building security is excellent so we felt completely safe in our room. Walking around during the day also felt completely safe. The room was very clean. The bathroom was small but functional. The building does not have A/C so the room was warm, which impacted our sleep. My wife and I both like to sleep cold, so the warmth of a 73 degree day might not impact other visitors. A hot summer day would likely be miserable. The mattress was also not the most comfortable. It wasn't bad, just not as nice as home. The room was advertised as having a Queen size bed. The bed in our room seemed smaller, so maybe it was a double instead of a queen. The rate we paid was very good, especially for downtown Seattle. The convenience to Virginia Mason hospital couldn't be better.

Stayed for medical procedures nearby. Old building but very clean, comfy bed, and large room with microwave and frig. Small bathroom and no AC. At the top of a big hill so be aware if walking from Symphony Station. Otherwise very convenient to surgical centers and well priced for downtown.

It was very nice for a 2 star hotel, the room was clean the check in and check out were easy, the only bad thing was the lobby was being touched up so it smelled of paint and it was messy, but other than that it was a good experience.

The staff was exceptional in providing me a beautiful suite with a gorgeous view of the Seattle skyline. I was there for my daughter’s kidney transplant surgery at Virginia Mason hospital so I very much appreciated the peacefulness the view provided. The room was clean, water was nice and hot for showers, the view was rejuvenating, and most of all the staff, including the Rho cafe, where friendly, professional, and extremely helpful in making our stay very pleasant.

Not a great area, very old rooms, old TVs with 10 channels, no amenities, no one at front desk. Big rooms, ok “staff” across the street.
