Lovely clean comfortable bed and bedding and towels. Bathroom had mould on tile grouting in showe/bath, part of the skirting board had fallen off. Needs secondary double glazing on old sash window, very drafty and would help with noise reduction from road. Room cold untill I found out the radiator was turned off on its valve, luckly I managed to be able to turn it back on even though its valve was stiff. Cobwebs on ceiling by light above bed. Room needs a good deep clean and paintwork need re doing. But it was a good location. Parking was good and a suitable for my needs. But furnishing and decorating not ip to the Travelodge I stayed in a month ago. I would use again but hope to see some improvements. Not a moan but I hope it is seen as constructive coments. You did ask for them. Room 20 in the annex across the road from the main hotel.

This hotel needs an awful lot of refurbishment. We arrived and the radiators had been switched off all day. The room was freezing cold and we waited in our coats for it to warm up but had to eventually ask for support from the staff who provided an electric heater. We were in room 17, if the curtains are closed it covers the radiator completely. The ceiling has large cracks in it and the plaster looks as though it might fall off at any time. There was black mould in the bathroom and the radiator is rusting badly. Upon arrival the paintwork and appearance of this hotel gives a poor impression and sadly our experience was poor.

I chose to stay at the Greene king following a lovely stay we had by the chain in London at Christmas however was solely disappointed by our stay last night and I am requesting a full refund. First of all, we were given a room across the road from the hotel (22). From the minute we entered the building there was a strong smell of damp and upon entering the room the smell was stronger, the walls were marked and damp and the room was unclean and the toilet didn't flush properly. The lamp was smashed needed a complete deep clean. The lady moved us to another room next door to the hotel (154). This room was better in terms of the damp smell, however was completely unclean. The sofa bed was covered in dog hairs and my daughter has an allergy to dogs. The bedding had black marks on, the room wanted deep cleaned and was filthy, the windows were blowing through we had to pack towels on them and the noise was absolutely horrendous staying with a young family. The shouting of inappropriate sexual things from the beer garden was disgusting and we had to keep the televisions on loud until well past 11pm. Because of the uncleanliness, 4 of us had to stay in one double bed having very little sleep. I also want to point out how dangerous the bathroom door is, it’s a barn door that locks from the outside and no way of opening this from the inside which my son discovered. It’s a fire hazard as nobody is getting out of that room in the tiny window and it’s dangerous.

The staff were friendly however my sleep was severely impacted by old single pane windows that were noisy, an uncomfortable mattress and too much light coming over the curtains. The bathroom had cobwebs and peeling walls and the fittings were old and worn. I was attending a training course nearby and my poor experience at the hotel definitely spoiled my capacity to learn. I didn't enjoy my stay and I will definitely not be returning.
