Unhappy traveler.

The main room had mould, the bath cover had a large crack, mould in the bathroom, soap dish was rusty as was shower rail. Heavy dust on bathroom vent. Room door looked as if it had been broken into. Toilet didnt flush properly. Breakfast was poor. Bacon and sausages over cooked, potato scone wasnt cooked and raw. Coffee machine was leaking everywhere. On the whole a very unpleasant stay and expected more with the price we paid. If i had stayed and had to pay afterwards i wouldnt have paid.

Basic room. Cheap and cheerful. Nice to use as a base. Slept and bathed here whilst exploring the local area. Little bit dated, but functional. Can't ask for much more for the price.

Britannia waives most of the rules

Lovely building (main house, didn’t see inside annexe) but the usual Britannia routine of not cleaning/servicing rooms daily which I simply don’t understand. Restaurant (Jennie’s?) was never opened at any point and the hotel bar doesn’t open till 5pm. Bearing in mind the location is pretty rural there are no alternative facilities within miles. All in all I enjoyed my stay and it certainly is a unique venue which I would re-visit but I fear for the standard with Britannia running it - it certainly won’t improve

I enjoyed the stay. The room was quiet, the bathroom was new, check in was quick, the price was very good, bar was comfortable, drinks were not expensive. Didn't have breakfast. If you are looking for romantic stay then this is not the place but i think it was good and has character.

Fab hotel

This hotel is brilliant, staff are great, rooms are nice we was on 3rd floor as they have been recently decorated, they have a live singer on every night! This is not advertised enough round the hotel, we found this on 2nd night the live singers are fab! Will be staying again the grounds around it are stunning too! You get what you pay for and more I loved this hotel

Upon arrival the reception staff are really amazing and greet you like a friend. Very helpful indeed. Very professional and a well priced hotel. I will have many more stays here.

Avoid at all costs!

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. A big, run down, dirty hotel. From the rude receptionist when we checked in to the 1970s avocado bathroom suite with bodged piping repairs. We were only staying overnight and leaving early to catch a flight from Prestwick but it was so bad we left early. Continual shouting in the corridor, someone running up and down, doors banging continually. If you’re thinking of staying here, honestly don’t! Just terrible.

Cheap and nasty.

Checked into the room to find a lighter laying on a table. Also in the bathroom on the floor were two bowls one had water in it and another looked like it had contained dog food. On the walls there were splatters of blood!!! The mattress was very uncomfortable. You could feel all the metal springs.

The hotel looks amazing from the outside, quite grand and the grounds are lovely but the staff are dreadful. During dinner the staff ended up sitting with us in the dinning room instantly turning it into a works canteen rather than a restaurant.
