A comfortable one night stay.

A comfortable one night stay, the bed was comfy and the temperature of the room was fine. The bathroom was small and smelt quite musty, but it was clean. Breakfast was very good and cooked to requirements. The whole hotel is very dated, but for the price we were very happy with it.

Great value for money.

Centrally located offering excellent value for money, both for the rooms and breakfast. Comfy beds and a well stocked bar for pre-Blackpool aperitifs. A few cosmetic improvements required in the bathrooms but the relatively new family ownership is moving in the right direction.

The property is a little outdated but you get what you pay for. I would happily come back to the Lanayr.

2/10 Poor

So bad we didn't end up staying and left within a couple of hours; wish I had checked the reviews more before booking. We booked this venue due to the promise of the "large" carpark which turned out to be 4 or 5 already full parking bays in an alleyway. There was an opportunity to double park, but this would have left someone blocked in and my car sticking out into the ally itself. Having finally found somewhere else to park at an additional expense of £35, we went to the property itself. From the moment the front door was opened we were hit with a musty smell. The whole property is very old and in desperate need of renovation. The room itself was dirty, with black mould and a layer of dust in the bathroom. My foot went through a floorboard in the bedroom. The mattress was beyond soft and the curtains were so thin it was pointless having them there in the first place. At the price point, I expect much, much better. Had this been priced around £25, I'd have put it into the "you get what you pay for" category and even then only suitable if you have been on the beer all day and don't care where you crash.

Disappointed from the second we arrived, mouldy mattresses in the car park, when we walked to the front 1/2 the signage was missing. Then we got to the room parts of the ceiling hanging down. Heating on full unable to turn off so window had to be left open. Bathroom was full of mold parts of shower hanging off and the sealant around the shower looked like it was done by a child

Came for a mid week break. Room was cosy and bed comfortable. Bar had lots of variety and was very affordable. Breakfast was amazing and great value for money. The team and Krish the manager were brilliant. Krish was lovley, eager to help and couldn’t have been more helpful. Safe to say next time I’m in Blackpool I shall be staying at your hotel. Only a 10 or so min walk from the front. Thank you Krish for a lovely stay, highly recommended and hope to be back soon!

You get what you pay for

Selected pay at property and they took the money out of my bank before I even arived, asked a few questions through the app with absolutely zero response from the hotel. Upon arivel we had to wait 10 minutes before being let into the building and after that the rooms were still not ready at 7pm. No one available on reception at any time and bar was always closed. There was mould growing in the bathroom and the shower curtain was mankey Be careful when walking around the floor is un even throughout the hotel rolled my ankle coming down some steps because there was a 1 inch dip in the floor right in the middle of the stairs with bo warning anywhere about it. Heating was constantly on with no way of turning it off. Hot water lasted about 2 minuets.

Hotel room was really dirty carpets ripped and shower was dirty. The bar wasnt open so couldnt get drinks. And the breakfast was dreadful served in a takeaway box already left on the table before you come downstairs.

Unhappy

Manager wasn’t very friendly, we had tea and coffee in the room along with 2 mugs but no kettle I asked a handful of times for a kettle but didn’t get one. Breakfast we had to walk 15 minutes as he had closed the restaurant at the hotel and we didn’t find this out until we arrived.

2/10 Poor

We had called on our way to say we would be early and could we park the car, we told yes no problem and go back about 1430 for check-in. We did the guy kept saying no 3pm eventually he let us in the building, first greeted with a smell of mould and a big damp patch on the entrance ceiling. Then he couldn’t find our 2 rooms booked so check in took another 15 mins. Rooms are basic room 15 is freezing wind howling through the windows. We went out came back at 1030 no bar open, place all in darkness and keys to the main door wouldn’t open the lock so another 40 mins in the code talking to a ring door bell until some staff appeared and let us in. Personally wouldn’t rate at 3*. Could be a lovely place if they put a lot of money into the place. But until I’d tell anyone to avoid

2/10 Poor

On arrival we rang the bell. The receptionist opened the door and gestured for us to come through, no hello or welcome. We were led to a small reception desk where payment was taken. We were not asked to register or provide any other details which I found odd. The rooms were less than basic. One of the rooms had a hole in the floor which was badly covered over by the very thin carpet. The room didn’t look or feel like it had been cleaned and hairs were found in the bed. The other room had only one towel for 2 people and nobody was on hand to ask for a second towel. The tea making facilities were basic and one of the mugs was filthy. The shower cubicle was dirty and the radiator next to the toilet had never been cleaned. We stayed the first of the 2 booked nights as we had little choice at that point. We checked out the following day, a day early without seeing anyone to mention any of the above to. The upshot is that this “hotel” need a fully and immediate refurbishment or at the very least a proper clean and more staff available. I would not recommend anyone stay here.
Disgusting radiator next to the toilet
Their interpretation of acceptable curtains
Unsafe electrical outlets set within a wooden panel
Michael, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Room, staircases, dinning room, front entrance all dirty. The room was freezing cold, had go out and buy a blanket just to keep warm. Parking was £10 a day to park in a back ally. No hot water till after 9am then went off again. No fresh towels, the shower flooded the bathroom, toilet was leaking. Said on the website breakfast was 8am till 9am but its 9am till 10am. Staff only seen for 5minuts to check in and to serve breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was very poor, the coffee was something eles. The bar wasn't open. Definitely will never ever return and would never recommend it to anyone.

Budget accommodation

You get what you are paying for, they say. I was grounded in Blackpool for a week, waiting for my flat to be ready to move in. So I looked for a budget accommodation. It's not cheap but not expensive either. Staff very helpful and guys are doing what they can. However, if you paid more attention to details, the customer satisfaction would be higher.
