Hotellet är under renovering och är inte i så bra skick, men tredje våningen på hotellet är klar och mycket fin och när renoveringen är färdig kommer det säkert att bli utmärkt eftersom tredje våningen har mycket vackra, välskötta rum och mycket bekväma sängar, helt nyrenoverade. Jag rekommenderar det när det är helt renoverat, det är mycket centralt, nära strandpromenaden.

1. The room was in terrible shape. We had awful water pressure in the shower with almost no hot water. The shower leaked badly...all over the bathroom floor. 2. The room safe was broken so we were unable to secure our valuables in the room. 3. The selection of food in the breakfast buffet should have been better. You should add scrambled eggs, toast, home fries, sausage or bacon, a selection of pastries, fresh fruit, and a selection of cereal. The selection of food in the buffet was geared more toward Mexican guests and not toward American or Canadian guests. 4. The air conditioning unit should have adjustable vents so it wouldn't be blowing cold air on guests when they are in bed trying to sleep. 5. The ceiling fan did not work. We would have turned off the AC and used the fan overnight if it had. 6. The only good things we can say about the room is that the bed was comfortable and we liked the location. Unfortunately, because of all the negative things listed above, we will not be returning to the Hotel Portonovo.

Our room 103 was in poor shape and did not have enough towels, and no face cloths. Shower floor was in poor conition and nshower head not in a good position. There should be a drop off and pickup spot at the front and back of the hotel. Parking would be a bonus.

Like where do I begin??? First of all when I booked this place I was not told there would be Reno's going on from 9 am until 10:30 PM daily with jack hammers and drilling banging etc. Secondly one of the reasons why I booked this Hotel was because it had a pool. I have a total of 4 knee replacements 3 on left knee and 1 on right knee. I needed the pool to keep my knees exercised. The 3rd and 4 th floor was completely closed off. The first room I was in was so dark and like a dungeon and the card key would not work half the time and had to keep going down to the desk and having it re activated between 2 -4 times a day. They kept accusing me that it was my Cell phone. I did not even have my Cell phone with me on this trip. Plus there was a lot of mold in the shower and on the ceilings and walls. I had to go buy bleach to kill some of the mold. After a week of dealing with it. I demanded I be moved to a different room. So the second room was better but still mold on the ceilings and in the shower. Plus the Patio Door which I was on the first Floor did not have a lock on it and would not close properly. I was very nervous that someone could jump up onto my patio and get into my room. I was told by the Receptionist that the Hotel had sent out Letter to all the booking Companies stating that there would be Reno's going on so I feel Hotels.com did not inform me on this matter otherwise I could have booked elsewhere. Very disappointed and totally wrecked my whole 4 wk. holiday.

When I first checked in, they put me in a room that was absolutely awful and told the pool was out of order. I called in to request a hotel change and was told that wasnt an option but was given an upgrade. The new room was nice but had just had renovations completed. I had to put batteries in the safe and the remotes. The floor was still under construction and there was noise all day and well into the night. Also, the elevator only worked half the time and there were no handrails to walk down 3 flights of stairs. The breakfast is decent but the breakfast room is under construction so enjoy trying to find a spot in their 6 tables off the lobby and sitting in folding chairs. This could all be forgiven except for the absolute lack of any decent customer service. The front desk staff is actively unpleasant, none of the porters speak even one word of english nor know how to smile, yet stand there looking for a tip and the vibe at this place is not one of welcome. I spilled a bright colored drink and used a towel to clean it and they charged me for a towel, Which was understandable until they charged me 400 Pesos for a crappy white towel and held my room key hostage until I paid. After spending the week at a similarily priced hotel 2 blocks away I know that this isn’t the standard. I will NEVER consider this hotel again and will actively not recommend. Not sure how they got such a good rating to start with because they sure didnt earn it from me.

The safe did not work. The showerhead was tuck into a small corner with no water pressure and limited hot water. Walls are super thin, and can hear the cleaners and neighbors walking down the hallway and slamming doors. Wifi was given but the connection was non-existent. The beds were ok.

The customer service was excellent. Cesar is a wonderful doorman and deserves a raise as do the rest of the staff. The free breakfast was very good, especially the fresh fruits. Beyond that the top 3 floors were under renovations, we didn't have access to the pool on the roof, due to the Hurricane in October. The wifi was choppy, tv was broken, our view on the balcony was blocked by construction equipment. There was metal rod sticking out of the floor, shower needs some work, and it would be nice if there were mini fridges in the rooms. The AC was very good n cold. We also stayed 8 nights and felt extremely safe.

El personal es muy atento desde el ingreso. Ahora al hotel le están haciendo unas remodelaciones, hay partes cerradas, pero es para mejorar. Las camas son cómodas, el desayuno rico y basto, las señoras de cocina son muy amables. Todo estuvo bien.
