My husband and I traveled to New Mexico and checked into this hotel on October 8,everything is great! Especially the breakfast kitchen waitress, she is so warm and thoughtful ,worth of praise!

Never again

We got in super late and didn’t know the place was going under renovations which we were able to move past. We were put on the second floor and then told the elevator was out of order. I asked for a room on the first floor and they said they had nothing available. The hotel was dead and lordsburg is very small, so I know they had availability downstairs. We had to make two trips up the stairs with our stuff. Everything creaked and our door to our room was warped and had to force it to close it. The room was dusty and dirty, so it wasn’t cleaned before we got there. They could have at least checked it before. I had to get cleaning supplies to clean the room and bathroom. I checked the sheets and the 2 different mattress covers had a big urine stain and a drop of blood. I was both exhausted and furious. They didn’t offer to change the room, but they did bring up new mattress covers. It was almost midnight at the time, so I had no energy to make a big fuss and on top of that, I was there for funeral services. The shower floor creaked really bad and the room smelled weird. I had been there like 10 years ago and it was a great place, but it has gone down hill after that.

The worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. I had a prepaid reservation through Expedia for September 6–7, 2025 under my name (José Eduardo Lopez Salgado). After driving more than 12 hours, I arrived at 3:20 a.m. on September 7, only to be treated with complete disrespect by the front desk clerk. Without my authorization, she charged my credit card. When I questioned her, she admitted it was a mistake but said she couldn’t fix it until 8 a.m. because she was “new.” When I asked for my room keys, she refused unless I gave her my card again. Afraid of another unauthorized charge, I declined. Her response was shocking: rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. She told me to “go find another hotel,” raised her voice at me, refused to call a supervisor, and even threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave. I never raised my voice, never insulted anyone, and remained calm the entire time (something the lobby cameras can confirm). Only when another staff member, Marisa, arrived was the situation resolved—but not before I was again threatened with removal if I was “rude” to the clerk. This hotel allowed a single employee’s incompetence and hostility to completely ruin my stay and damage the reputation of the Hampton Inn brand. An unauthorized charge, verbal abuse, threats, and a total lack of accountability—this is simply unacceptable. If you value professionalism, respect, and basic hospitality, avoid this property at all costs.

The property is under renovation. The elevator was not working and we had to take the stairs. The front desk person was very apologetic about the elevator and I felt she was trying to do all that she could, there were no bottom floor rooms available. She did provide us with bottled water to apologize, however we heard from other guests that it often is not working. The breakfast was really nice and Rosa (the woman working it)was the best. She was very attentive and went out of her way to check on everyone.
