Overall, if you’re looking for a quiet, wellness-centered stay with beautiful surroundings and minimal noise or crowds, this resort delivers. However, if easy beach access, quick dining service, or engaging evening entertainment are important to you, this may fall short.Relaxing Getaway with Beautiful Grounds and Spa, but Lacking Beach Access and Entertainment. We spent a long weekend at Cell by Meliá in Punta Cana, and while the stay was relaxing and peaceful, there were a few key things that future guests should be aware of. The setting is truly beautiful—lush tropical landscaping, tall palm trees, and impeccably clean pools create a tranquil and secluded atmosphere. We stayed in a Master Suite, which felt more like a small apartment, complete with a kitchenette, a comfortable living space, a master bedroom, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub inside and another jacuzzi outside on a private patio overlooking the pool. This setup made the space feel luxurious and serene. The spa was a major highlight. We did a foot massage retreat that was excellent, and the facilities include a full range of services: full-body massages, hydrotherapy, steam rooms, cold showers, and saunas. It's definitely one of the most relaxing and well-maintained parts of the resort, and a big plus for wellness-focused travelers. As instalações são novas e bem cuidadas, o quarto super amplo e confortável (ficamos na Zel Master Suite), a praia é cinematográfica… mas essas características sozinhas não seriam suficientes para que nossa estadia fosse excelente: o diferencial foi o atendimento dos funcionários! Todos foram muito simpáticos e atenciosos! Gostaria de deixar um agradecimento especial ao Wilington Matos, que nos atendeu todos os dias no restaurante Parda, sempre sorridente e muito simpático. No final de nossa hospedagem, ele até já nos trazia as bebidas que gostávamos sem precisarmos pedir, foi extremamente atencioso. E juntamente com ele no restaurante, o Jabes Rodriguez também foi muito cordial todos os dias. Além deles, gostaria de deixar registrado nosso agradecimento ao Jostin, que nos recebia diariamente no restaurante da praia ”Neguri Beach” sempre alegre, bem-humorado e muito atencioso. Todos eles e os demais funcionários fizeram-nos sentir especiais.

Avoid – Looks beautiful, but far from luxury

Zel Punta Cana is visually stunning, with stylish design and lovely pools. If you stay, go for a ground-floor swim-up room in the 5000–7000 block that connects to the main pool. Unfortunately, service at the swim-up bar was poor - we gave up twice after waiting over 15 minutes. Ordering a drink felt like an inconvenience to the staff. The vibe changed constantly - sometimes calm, sometimes blasting dance music. Asking to lower the volume was met with, “Sorry, we can’t.” Food was a major letdown: bland, repetitive, and poorly timed. Only one restaurant was open during the day, and dinner alternated between the buffet and one other venue. By day two, we were bored with the menu. The resort was quiet but oversaturated with staff constantly trying to sell spa treatments or excursions. We asked for a list of activities four times before finally getting it on day five - too late. A “free welcome gift” came with strings attached: a short meeting turned into hours of pressure to join a vacation club. Despite informing them this was our honeymoon, there was no real acknowledgement. A special dinner was cancelled due to weather and not rescheduled. No one in management was accessible - just endless WhatsApp handoffs. This was not the luxury experience we were sold.

we stayed for 8 days and let me tell you, I would go back tomorrow if I could and stay at this same resort again regardless of the many options you have on the island. The food was so delicious and there are many options for dining. The resort is incredibly clean!!!! All the trees and flowers were absolutely gorgeous. The shuttle is nice to and from the beach. Like I said the whole resort was manicured to perfection! The nightlife is fun as well and the staff ensured you had a great night! All of the staff literally treated you like a member of their own family. Not one single staff member made me feel anything but welcomed and loved. I felt incredibly safe staying at the resort. The security make absolute sure that you were in safe hands while on the property and even at the beach. I love each and every one of you and I will be back next year! Thank you all sooo much for an unforgettable vacation. YOU ALL ARE THE BOSS ❤️❤️

Beautiful and quiet Hotel , very small but Rooms were stunning! Outdoor incredible beautiful, have to take a ride to go to the beach or if prefer a long walk , not entertainment at all , Good for resting, meditation or just full relaxing time .,,. Buffet very limited options the Steak House restaurant 5/5 excellent, Mexican Restaurant don’t like anything there besides the service. I won’t be back there but I will definitely recommend it for a very relaxing vacation.

Everything was great - service was also good - wish there was more restaurants, and the ones that are available aren’t open all the time. - the buffets should have more options, they basically serve the same thing everyday. This property is very nice and very cozy because is not too big but comfortable for couples, families and groups, due to the space to walk in natural surroundings between the pools, spa, Mexican restaurant . Also the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, caring and helpful people. The Mediterranean food is very good to maintain healthy during the stay. For my husband and me this is the key of success for this resort. This resort was inaugurated by Rafa Nadal the Spain tennis player. Give this all inclusive hotel a try and you’ll see how it works.

My family has been coming to this hotel for around 17 years when it was The Reserve.We were aware they remodeled and were excited to experience the hotel again. Except we were very disappointed. A few things below… -Concept - Seems like the hotel has a more “relaxed” concept except the execution of it seems more “cheap and unsophisticated” than “relaxed”. -Check-In - Given the concept, as soon as you arrive, you do self check-in via a QR code. This was the first impression and was not smooth at all. -Music - Back to the concept. The music is REALLY loud across the resort where you can’t even concentrate and read or do anything. I think they can play the same music just a tad bit lower. -Food - Quality of food has declined significantly. -Service - Quality of service has also significantly declined. You have to ask for things several times, half the time they forget or bring you wrong things and zero attention to detail. Angela and Chef Rodrigo are EXCELLENT -Staff - Some of the staff is really nice but some are rude and talk bad about customers to each other in spanish. Also, not professional and say bad words etc… -Rooms - The rooms are really nice and big. We had two connecting rooms for a family of 4. We did have to call maintenance twice, once for the air not working and the second time for the toilet. -Beach - The beach use to be at Paradisus which was fine but now it’s on the other side of the beach It is a shame that this has changed so we will not come back to Zel.

Lo positivo: Las habitaciones son bastante amplias, modernas y muy cómodas, con detalles premium, hay una cafetera, minibar con snacks y bebidas, cama king, jacuzzi, televisores, un reproductor de disco (a la antigua, no se como se llama) y un baño espectacular y espaciosa. Todas las instalaciones son nuevas y bien cuidadas. La calidad de la comida es superior, con un desayuno variado que incluye jugos naturales, mariscos frescos y una buena selección de ensaladas y proteínas. El almuerzo también ofrece opciones variadas y de calidad, con mariscos y carnes bien preparadas. Las actividades son enriquecedoras y diferentes: sesiones de HIT, aeroyoga, tour en bicicleta, y actividades artísticas como pintar una greca de café que luego te puedes llevar. El personal es muy amable y servicial, siempre dispuesto a ayudar. La playa es hermosa, aunque está un poco retirada del alojamiento, pero hay carritos que pasan cada 10 minutos para facilitar el acceso y regreso. A mi esposa y a mí nos encantó (somos residentes en República Dominicana, y vamos con mucha frecuencia a punta cana para descansar), y este definitivamente está por encima del promedio. La verdad el concepto de este hotel nos gustó mucho, al tener el sello de Rafa Nadal que promueve un estilo saludable y buena vibra. Lo negativo: El room service no estuvo a la altura. Probamos 3 platos y ninguno fue satisfactorio. Recomendamos comer en el buffet o en los restaurantes del hotel, donde la experiencia es mucho mejor.
