A tricky place to review.
The grounds, setting, main building and staff are all of the highest calibre. The breakfast is imaginative ( shrimp and grits? Sensational ), generous and well prepared and presented .
Aida, the hostess, is delightful..warm, welcoming, enthusiastic and genuine.
I found the room disappointing. It was stark, functional, cold and unwelcoming. Like mony buildings here, there was no ground floor, so the room floor was open to the outside temperature. Unluckily for us, it was just a few degrees above freezing. A few rugs would have helped. The heating was loud, so that wasn’t an option during sleep, and the bedding provided didn’t keep us warm.
The WiFi was virtually non existant, too.
It seems a place that is of high quality outside of the rooms, and basic within them.
It has great potential, staff with great attitude, but the rooms need more thought and investing in.
