We really enjoyed our clean room and beautiful view out our window. The hotel was quiet and restful after a long day of sightseeing! Nice clean room with a canal view. Nice feature was being able to open the window for fresh air. Staff was great in helping us get around to see the sites and dealing with our taxi needs. The bar was great, but didn’t have decaf coffee. The food in the restaurant was good, but was somewhat limited in scope. The breakfast selection was very good.

Stayed here many times and it’s always excellent. It’s a 15 minute walk from the train station. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are very comfortable. The shower room is great and the toiletries are divine. The breakfast in the executive area is great, there are lots of choices to suit your preferences and a variety of different milks for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance. The executive lounge is a nice touch for coffee and cake in the afternoon and an aperitif before dinner.

The reception area was always staffed (at least 3 people). The hotel room was big enough for a family stay with 2 kids for a few days with a sofabed - but next time I would choose the connecting rooms for more space (my kids are 5 and 8) and also as the bathroom does not have its own light (turns on with entrance light), which can be disturbing for the kids on sofabed as the light might wake them up. (There is a shaving mirror you can turn on that gives enough nightlight). The room was clean at arrival. However, be aware you have to book the cleaning (after) as it is not automatically done daily. Reception staff (and everyone else) was really helpful, and dealt with enquiries really quickly. The breakfast selection (buffet style) was good. As it was a family holiday with young children had not used the bar but it looked good.

We had a rather odd experience at this hotel when checking in. We were two couples on one booking. On checking in, one couple was informed that we had been upgraded to an executive room but without access to the executive lounge. The other couple did not get a room upgrade but did get an upgrade to use the executive lounge. This left us with one of our couples able to access these facilities but the other not, unless we paid an additional £100 for the three nights. We felt obliged to do this so that we could all use the same facilities but honestly felt it was a rather bizarre way for the hotel to behave and left with a slight suspicion that it was a way to induce people to pay extra for these facilities. Other than that a good experience with the only poor aspect being a rather erratic cleaning service. They didn't replenish our tea and coffee on the first morning and left dirty coffee cups in the room. The second day they replenished the tea and coffee but removed all the coffee cups and most oddly removed the two bottles of unopened complementary water. We were also shocked to discover that one of the bottles of wine in the mini bar was empty and had to dispute this with reception on checkout.

Nice staff, delicious breakfast with many options for hot and cold food , breads and spreads, in decorated dining room that partially faces the canal. Hotel was at central location walkable to central station and different sites, or transit ride away. Bike rentals on site convenient for site seeing along the dedicated bike lanes.
