Superb stay

The room was spotless and very comfortable. The bed and linen was excellent. The breakfast was fantastic with a wide variety of choice and very well cooked. We would definitely use again if we were up in this area.

Overnight stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Piersland and would stay again. However, first impressions were not great. The reception area is tired and in need of modernisation. A friendly welcome would also have been nice. We were told our room number and that it was outside, but no directions were given, so we were left wandering about trying to find it. The Lodge room was lovely, nice and bright and well equipped. One thing to mention is that the shower is over bath and may not suit people with mobility issues. Morning breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, served by friendly staff.

Charming and peaceful stay in mid-March

We were in one of the Mews rooms. Very impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Good breakfast choices. About a 6 minute drive to Troon Ferry Terminal. Had dinner in the Red Bowl restaurant and also the bar/lounge area and service in both areas was good. The decor in the latter is very Edwardian and harkens back to when it was a private residence. Would definitely come back for a repeat visit.

Take your thermals at night

The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. Room nice and spacious. Bar night and warm with fire. Bathroom disappointing. Could do with a revamp. The bathroom radiator wasn’t working at all. Bathroom freezing. Room was nice and warm on arrival but during the night they turn off the heating according to a staff member. I was very cold during night and as a result my husband and I have been coughing and feel like we have a cold starting.

We stayed for 2 nights after our son's wedding on Saturday 1st.Feb.The whole day of the wedding was amazing and the meal was fabulous.The next day we just relaxed and had a beautiful meal in the evening,it was a great weekend and we will return soon for another wee break..

Great Stay for Hogmanay

We stayed at Piersland for a couple of nights for Hogmanay (New Years). It was a lovely room - very comfortable and cosy despite it being stormy weather. We went for the gala dinner and it was great fun. Fantastic food and service. We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Would recommend for families and couples.

Disappointing and not dog friendly!

We booked a cottage mews which was dog friendly although we knew the hotel wasn’t. The cottages didn’t have a kitchen area and the toilet was essentially a disabled wet room. In short, unless you wanted to leave your dog in the cottage there is nothing to do do we left after one night of a three night stay. Ironically we ended up going into the marine hotel for dinner across the road which did welcome dogs. Our fault in fairness that we booked a cottage assuming it was self catering. All in all disappointing. The cottage was essentially a hotel bedroom suite with a disabled wet room in need of refurbishment.

My wife and I stayed in The Mews No23 which is probably the most comfortable hotel room I have experienced. A living room, a separate bedroom and two TV'S! We were there for a wedding and we could not have been better looked after. Dining room staff were efficient and friendly.
