Wonderful experience

A lovely receptionist greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcomed. The room was very adequate. Very clean, updated and comfortable. Bed was very comfy.The bathroom was very nice as well. Great price for a room. Well lit outside and i parked 6 ft from my door which I love. I felt very safe as an older female traveling alone Definitely would stay again amd highly recommend!

Clean, inexpensive, 2 star hotel

The Wilkes-Barre Lodge was a great choice for our one night stay near the Mohegan Sun Poconos Casino. It looked newly renovated and was very clean and inexpensive. Our room was missing a cover over one outlet and had a broken cover on an outlet/switch combo. It also didn't have hangers for our coats or a suitcase rest. These things were minor and easy to work around. I would stay here again if we go back to this area.

After another hotel in the area cancelled my reservation, I ended up here for a quick overnight to get some sleep. It was a last minute booking and maybe some of the other rooms are ok, but 217 is in the back section of the hotel. Listing did not specify if it was a smoking or non smoking room. Cigarette holes in the bedding, heavy cigarette smell, secondary safety lock broken on the door. Old air conditioners sitting on the walkway outside, rust from the upstairs walkway on the lower walkway, shopping carts on another area of the walkway. IMO the hotels.com rating and the price point are not deserved

Won't stay here again.

This is the only place in my three years of traveling to copy my driver's license. When I asked for it back in the morning. They need to join the 21st century and simply put a security on the credit card. The configuration was also bizarre. Our room number 112 was actually on the second floor. The really sad part was the "adult" store sign view from the room. It was huge ...

Beware, Abandoned building next door!

Apparently, Hotels.com does not vet there properties well and isn't concerned about the safety of their clients. This property is located next to an abandoned, boarded up property and is not in a good area. We drove up to the motel and there were people hanging out on the balcony, and the property was not well kept. I contacted Hotels.com to cancel our reservation because I did not feel safe in tbe area and was advised the owner of the hotel would still charge us because we did not cancel within the alloted time. The safety of my family is worth more than the money spent on that motel. The pictures shown online do not accurately reflect the property, Buyer beware!

Old style motel with remodels. Looks nice in pics but not sure why this motel gets any high marks. It was clean but beds are like rocks. Pillows are an inch thick. Heating unit roars. Door difficult to lock. One night stay, so we overlooked issues. But noise in nearby unit persisted beyond midnight. Loud talking, arguing, sounded like doors and objects being slammed. Sleep was impossible. Reported it 2x to manager. He said he talked to them, got blowback, would have to call police. We asked for another room. None available. We left because we felt it was becoming scary and we had family member with disabilities with us to consider. Tried to get our money back through hotels.com the next day but was told we didn't allow them to fix the problem by calling hotels right then! Honestly, it did not occur to me. And we were supposed to hang around while this continued at 1230 am and wait for the police? Got a half credit through hotels but only after escalation. Be aware you must call them immediately if there is a problem. They said they would've gotten us another room. We tried four places nearby. Booked solid. I think the manager tried to help but ultimately more consideration was given to the disruptive party.

Staff at check-in was friendly and took time to explain things. The room is small but clean. I saw so relieved it was not carpet! The floors were clean, bathroom was spotless. Looked like new renovations. No funky weird smells. Definitely stay again next time we are visiting.

It was a small room with a hard matress. The plug for the tub drain was sitting on the tub itself and there was no toilet paper holder. They sit the toilet paper on the back of the toilet.

Nice clean comfy room but didn’t feel welcome

Clean comfortable room. Short drive to dining and shopping. Staff was very nice. The problems were the harsh polices about check-in and check-out, and the unfriendly tone of the posted notice about them. I didn’t even know what they were trying to say with the thing about a half hour (see pic). Worse: all the free AC outlets are blocked off so you can't plug things into them. To charge devices you have to unplug the TV, microwave, or fridge.

Günstige Zwischenübernachtung in Pennsylvania

Gute Unterkunft am Ortsrand. Wir habn sie als Zwischnstopp genutzt, haben aber die Chance genutzt und die Seven Tubs besucht. Leider war der Boden sehr staubig und noch etwas schmutzig, aber ansonsten war das Zimmer sauber und wir konnten gut dort nächtigen.

How do people rate this place a 10?

The lobby smelled terrible. There is an abandoned building next door. There were people arguing outside at 5 am. Some questionable people living or staying there. The bed was uncomfortable and had 3 small flat pillows for 2 people. I would never stay here again.
