10/10 Exceptional

Location was fantastic. Check-in was easy. Room was as advertised

10/10 Exceptional

Fine for a one or 2 night stay as Bergen's an expensive city. Had the room with a bathroom so had all I needed. Very close to the usual attractions but far enough away to be quiet.

Avoid if possible

Good points: well located and the bed was comfortable. The communication was good by message. Bad points: a really really old place. I don't recommend it. Loud alarm noise all the night we can't stop. Gas noise. Shower broken. Mold in the bathroom. This place needs refurbishment. It's okay for one night for one person in the best case but that's all. Excessive price for what is it. I knew some one star campings who are better.

Basic and centrally located.

This is a self-service apartment with no staff on site. The apartment itself was fine, although the black wooden staircase to the bedroom was tricky to negotiate. So overall it is a basic property with no frills, adequate for a short stay.

Location is good, just 6-7 minutes away from train station, 6 minutes from Floyen Station and port. Only bad thing about it, was no bin in bedroom or living room and 3:00 pm check in time.

6/10 Good

The hotel is well located for walking to sights and the bus and train stations. Our room was tight but had a comfortable double bed, table and two chairs, small fridge, microwave, and sink. The bathroom was tiny and had hand soap only, so bring your own shampoo. Despite the instructions we received, it was difficult to find the entrance tucked into the side street. Then, you need to use two different codes to enter the hotel building for the main entrance and internal entrance, unless of course someone has propped open the back door to a courtyard, and then you can just walk in. You also use a code to get your room key out of a lockbox. It's a lot to do to get in and out. Our room and the bathroom was clean enough, but if you're looking for immaculate, this is not your best choice. The price is the hook here.

No frills

Very basic accommodation, but great location made up for it. No frills, only one towel per person and no shampoo/shower gel. Difficult to find as it’s round the corner of the actual address. Make sure you read the email they send on the day you arrive as it has all the info you need to access the building/room. I missed this and had to call them, they were very helpful.

Given local prices this was good value. Bathroon was showing its age but clean usable. Small kitchenett in the room. Only problem was finding it as there are three hotels on the same street.

Great room and value for money, BUT NO RECEPTION! It is all self-service check-in, with codes. Not good for a woman on her own. What if you had a problem with someone? In fact, for both men or women, not having a person at Reception is disconcerting. - what if you lost your key, could not use the oven, or shower, had any questions? Please go back to traditional receptions and give guests a welcoming face on arrival. And someone to provide assistance on-the-spot when necessary.

There was dirt and hair on the floors of the room. Someone else’s water was left on the kettle. The place is unsanitary. The toilet was stained. There was trash outside the door. They used fire extinguisher as a door prop - the place is unsafe. There was dirt everywhere, including floors and stairs. They did not thoroughly clean and sanitize. Customer beware! I saw how unsafe and unsanitary the place is and left to find another hotel. The owners of this property will not respond to Orbitz about a refund. I’m referring this property to legal authorities.

Never have I ever... Nor will again

The check in went smoothly. But... I have stayed at several hotels and hostels around Europe through the last 15-20 years. The is by far the most challenging stay I have had so far. As seen on the pictures the attempt to clean room 301 before my stay was doubtful. One can wonder what the brown spots next to the toilet were. There was next to no toiletpaper which was a surprise when arriving late in the evening. But the main issue was the air system of the whole building. Or rather the unexpected loud noise from it. Not even my ear plugs from the construction industry could withstand the force. When talking to the female manager (forgot her name), I was surprised by the way of communication that is normally friendly and helpful in Norway. I was told that there was no problem with the sound. I asked her to pop by and listen for herself, but "this is a low budget hotel so no. You get what you pay for" Once again I urged her friendly but firmly for her to come by and listen to the loud noise. "If you want to meet me tomorrow to have someone to tell at then I am in 9 am." I had to ask why she would think that hence I never rose my voice neither used ugly language. We agreed to talk again the next morning. With less than three hours of sleep, I call her at 7 am and asked a full refund that she offered the night before. My trust in her and this hotel was way overdue, and I found a better later. In short: Filthy, unsleepable stay with a hostile service that was next to none.

Avoid: worst place I've booked via Hotels.com

Listing is a lie. Horrible, near nonexistent communication. Host said communication problem was because my phone wasn't working but 0 msg and 0 emails. All but 1 inquiry via Hotels.com ignored. Received door access codes 3 hours before check after Hotel.com inquired. No msg 7 days before or storing bags before check in as advertised. My room was narrow with lofted beds. Had 1 window that barely opened and a skylight that didn't but fully allowed sun in, Outside was unseasonably warm and the room was a sauna. At 2300hrs the loft was 31C (86 F). Next night was 32 (90F; yes bought a thermometer). It was so stifling ran the stove and bath vent fan 24/7 and mostly kept the door open trying to get cooler air in. Request a fan was ignored. Second night we slept on the floor downstairs because of the heat. Room NOT cleaned between guests. Last guest's used towels still hanging behind bathroom door. Pillow cases missing. Floors NOT swept. Cookie crumbs will be there for future guests. Any black hairs you find belong to an earlier guest. Cabinet shelves and kitchen wall; grimy. I ignore things like a damaged wall, missing trim, etc but there is no excuse for filth, mold or bad communication; all present. So what is true about the property? No elevator (all rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor). Kitchenette haphazardly stocked; just boiling water was full extent of use. Good WIFI if you can get the password. Other reviews mentioned bedbugs but thankfully NONE found.
Hotel view if coming from train station. Entrance: around far corner (by traffic light) and 2/3 of the way back
Entrance is to left of white building. Look for low roofline, on the wall you will see 44 next to metal gate. That's the entrance.

Easy, convenient stay here! I wish it was indicated that there are 3 locations to this company prior to me being there. Rooms were plenty of space and i appreciated that it had a full kitchen and bathroom, however there was only one window on the roof and I could not open it due to the rain. The room was really stuffy and a bit smelly because there was no circulation. Walls were very thin so I could hear the people across from me as if they were in my room. Also my door never locked, luckily its in a safe area but it could have been a problem. You get what you pay for, its definitely a good budget place for travelers coming to Bergen.
Asia, 2-night trip

You get what you pay for

The hotel is located right in the city center. This is also probably the only really good thing I can say about it other than it is cheap. The TV didn't work. I had to make a call to get the WiFi-password as this was not available anywhere in the room or in the communication beforehand. The WiFi was also kinda sketchy, making some streaming sites fail. There was hand soap and toilet paper in the bathroom, but nothing else, so bring your own shampoo and body wash. The room has a lot of wear and tear. It was clean-ish and that's probably the best thing I can say. I stayed at the third floor and could not find any elevator, so if you have difficulty with stairs, then be aware. I would say the standard is reflected in the price. For me, just needing a room for the night, it was fair enough. If you expect anything more than this, I would assume you would be disappointed.

Horrible electrical noise, broken window and dirty

This was the worst experience with accommodations we have ever had. I am unable to fathom how you could check guests into that place with a piercing electrical noise and a ceiling window unable to close - if it had rained, it would have rained down into the apartment. The electrical noise came from inside a kitchen cabinet, sounding on/off every few seconds as lasting beeping/screeching sounds, heard everywhere in the apartment. If you did not have other rooms left, you would have done us a service by letting us know of the poor conditions, refunding our money and allowing us to book another place from the start. This trip was a rare visit in Bergen to celebrate our cousin getting her ph.D., but due to the bad accommodation, we arrived at the dissertation visibly exhausted. Furthermore, we had added stress and cost of finding a new place in a matter of hours. Your base purpose is to ensure facilities to sleep comfortably, and you failed in this. Also, the place wasn't even clean. The floor was dirty with hair from previous guests, the baking pan was filthy and there was black hair on the bedding (we have red and blonde hair). You also have no e-mail available and you have not yet responded to our enquiries in the Hotels.com app, where we booked our stay and tried to contact you. If we had paid half the price of what we did, it would still have been far too much. Please at least correct this horrible experience by refunding us the money for the two nights we did not stay.

Fint Utgangspunkt for tur til Løvstakken

Rommet var lite men fungerte greit. Hadde rom rett over restaurantens uteområde. Litt kjedelig.
