I write this review carefully, as my experience was mixed.
Let's start with the positive aspects. The hotel is in a fantastic location in Chinatown, near great eateries, opposite a lovely park, and it's easy to catch the subway. Our family room was MASSIVE! The main part of the room had one bed, a kitchenette where we could prepare meals, and a full-size fridge. There was also a bar and stools for us to sit at. Off to the side was a little alcove with the second bed. The room was clean and wonderfully kept, offering plenty of space.
Now for the negative – we had a deeply concerning incident where our prescription medication went missing from our locked hotel room. While we acknowledge that we should have locked it in the safe before leaving for the day, the fact remains that it was gone when we returned that night. The hotel staff were helpful in searching the rubbish to ensure it wasn’t accidentally thrown out, but unfortunately we ended up without our daughters medications for a week. This situation was incredibly distressing and unacceptable. On a lighter note, we got to see the inside of a working NYPD Precinct when we made our Police report.
Overall, while the hotel has many great qualities, I recommend keeping your valuables, including medications, securely locked up when staying here.
