The room was immaculate, the towels were plentiful and plush, the food is excellent, the vibe is friendly and laid back even when extremely busy, and the service was genuinely friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay again.

2/10 Poor

I was never able to check in. All the doors were locked and no one answered the phone. We had already checked into another hotel when someone called me and said he didn’t answer the phone because it was charging. The second phone number listed on Expedia didn’t have their voice mail set up. So staying somewhere else.

Though the rooms are small, they have been updated. Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, and it's an extremely convenient location to catch the train. Staff was very friendly. Didn't try the bar/restaurant, but they had plenty of business. I heard others comment on the creaking floors and noise level, but we use an atmosphere app for noise every night, so we didn't hear much.

This restoring and remodel the historic landmark is nothing short of remarkable! Old west decor with amazing detail and charm. Directly across street from the train depot! Simply the best in Chama!

please stay away from room 206 unless a single traveler ….. we took the chama train ride and so it was very convenient however on a sunday there are no restaurants open when you return from th day long ride and while the restaurant at the hotel would normally have been open - they decided without any warning to guests that there was a private party that evening so a total known of ten guests were left to fend for ourselves because the town is closed on sundays …. it is a very small town

Charming old hotel but expect old hotel quirks like slanted floors, small rooms and small beds that squeak! They've done a nice job restoring it.

Only downside was I was looking forward to eating in the restaurant but it was closed due to wedding party. I was told I could still order food at the bar, but then after getting a menu, was told that wouldn't be so. Only thing open on Sunday evening to eat was a substandard Subway, lol.

Other rooms on the same floor had what i had expected..2 double/queen beds. And no discount or break for taki g the bunk bed room??? Really.

Restaurant was good, but too busy and not enough staff. The staff run the restaurant, bar tend, serve, clean tables, and check people into their rooms! To enter your room, the restaurant is literally in the same space. Floors really cool, as they seem original, but creeky and we were afraid to move and create too much noise for other guests. The room was nice- redone and the shower was spectacular. However, deep cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. Overall a good night sleep to get to Cumbre and Toltectrain ride.for a one-night stay.

We travelled to Chama so we could ride the Cumbres Toltec train and chose to spend the night before at the Iron Rail Inn for thematic purposes and because of the easy access to the train station. We arrived late but the hotel staff were very considerate and helped make check-in super convenient. Overall, the room was clean, quiet, and cozy and we look forward to staying here again for future visits to Chama.

This hotel is full of charm, including creaky wood floors. Breakfast isn't served, but the lunch-dinner menu is varied and the food is good. Excellent house margaritas! Staff is super friendly. Conveniently located across the main street from the railyards, if you're going to take the Cumbres & Toltec historical train. All guests followed the hotel's quiet hours rules, at least while I was there, even though at the end of the hall on the second floor, where my room was, there was a pool table and a big-screen TV showing a football game.

We had a wonderful stay. Cute place all newly renovated. Had a bar and small restaurant with a petit menu but food was delicious. We stayed 2 nights to ride the train. Depot was directly across the street. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Had awesome rainfall shower.

Rooms were beautifully designed. Disappointed that we couldn't get breakfast Thursday morning before our train ride. Limited electric outlet in our room.was difficult.
