Lovely hotel right in the centre of beautiful, friendly and clean historic town of Oundle. The hotel has their own carpark. Our room was ready when we arrived even though we were early. It was spotless. There is even a surprise treat and toy for our cavapoo dog Bella. The staff are so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a great overnight stay at this charming, historical inn. Dining alfresco in the pretty courtyard was lovely and the food very good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is very dog friendly and our pooch was spoilt with treats and fuss! We will definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel. We where allowed to check in early which was much appreciated. Staff where polite and chatty which was great. Food was delicious. Breakfast potions where good sizes and again very tasty. The bar and restraunt where tidy and the outside seating areas where nice. Bed was comfy and the room was a good size. Bathroom was very clean. 100% will stay again.

Superb hotel full of character. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and were very impressed with the choice offered particularly for my husband who is coeliac and has to have gluten free. Staff on check in were helpful some of the restaurant staff not so much when asked if we could have more milk pots for tea and a toilet roll for room it was forgotten. On check in car park was full it’s not very big! Hotel also holds wedding receptions so it can get quite noisy up to midnight!

This is the second time we've stayed here - always a lovely, relaxing stay - nice atmosphere in the bar/lounge area. Very welcoming to dogs if you wish to bring your pet. I was down in Oundle for the soundle prog rock festival 3 days of fantastic prog music from 1pm to 1am ( at the Crown & rose) the hotel was next door to the venue, it was very comfortable, high quality, the TV had a USB so I could plug in some music, It had a fancy nancy coffee machine but I only like instant coffee, it is the best. the bed was comfortable, it was a wee bit hot - but I think UK hotels are going to have major problems in the years to come. Lots of old furniture and books in the corridors, nice spaces to sit and relax. . The breakfast was very good, beautiful room the mural reminded me of Anthony Phillips ( Genesis guitarist) album the Geese and The Ghost. It is a lovely hotel and parts date back to per British time, I have already booked my stay for next years soundle festival.
