Friendly staff that provided helpful information about our hike the next day. Easy to book transportation to the park for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike. Nice to have an en-suite with kitchenette. Beds were a bit soft for us but not a deal breaker. We stayed at another property a second night that we booked first and added a night and the other property could not accommodate us. Wished we stayed at the Adventure for the two night.

Actual unit was OK but we were most concerned by missing smoke alarm. We went off to sleep after seeing the empty alarm bracket and confirming our escape options were the ranch slider or the sliding door (our unit only had a single entry / exit…a solitary single sliding door). We would have contacted the reception to replace missing smoke alarm but it had already been made clear they were busy with shuttle runs. The bedside lamps also had different coloured bulbs (warm white and cool white) so using them was meant mismatched lighting. The shower curtain was 20cm too short for the cubicle and there was a reminder of a need to wash and dry dishes / cutlery otherwise an additional cleaning charge or $30 would be incurred (a thought of not washing our dishes was amusing…who leaves dirty dishes :-S ). Anyway - our stay was just overnight. Overall good accommodation option and certainly clean…just needed a few adjustments around making everyone who arrives feel welcome and safe.

Great and close to amenities

Good and quiet surrounding, with a few cafes and bars around. There is a spa pool available to use, just book it at the reception. The check in and check out are easy. The location is good- easy access to Whakapapa Ski field and they also offer shuttle service to Tongariro with a fee. Overall, great stay.

We were in the motel side. Room was very clean and nice. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. We got information about area and they took us even back to the railway station after checking out. You hate to order breakfast here! It was so wonderful and tasty! National park is near, if you want explore there.
