The front reception staff were lovely. The hotel is old and needs a renovation. It is a block from the famous tourist stairs which was awesome but the area is not a good place to stay if vacationing.

Ridiculously noisy. It may be out of the hotel's control but neighbouring rooms made so much noise that sleep was not possible the first night and near midnight the second night. Good loca5near Selaron steps.

Beyond Unacceptable

This is right in the middle of Lapa party district and for $30 for a Friday night during Carnival, I appreciate that it is cheap, however, some things are just completely unacceptable. When I checked into my room which the cleaners were just leaving I found a good sized room with fridge, twin beds, a wardrobe and TV and a good sized bathroom. However, the sink and co. had not be cleaned and contained male fluid stains en-masse. Both looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months and the floor was also filthy. The bed sheet contained a hand sewn rip too (I mean... seriously?). The shower was very good though I know for sure that everything was beyond filthy. The pillows stank. With such an attitude to hoarding old or broken appliances and linen etc. you can be sure that everything is unsanitary. Aside from that stated above all the staff were really nice, but....that doesn't make up for what I saw.

As camas estĂ£o em pĂ©ssimo estado de conservaĂ§Ă£o. Colchões deformados, roupas de cama manchadas tambĂ©m em pĂ©ssimo estado de conservaĂ§Ă£o para um hotel. O ar condicionado funciona bem. O banheiro atende Ă s necessidades basicas. A localizaĂ§Ă£o Ă© excelente para quem quer turistar. Ao lado da escadaria Selaron e a poucos metros dos Arcos da Lapa.

Antes de reservar o hotel olhei muitos comentĂ¡rios e a maioria era falando mal do hotel, entretanto, na minha sincera opiniĂ£o, o hotel realmente estĂ¡ em acordo com o valor da diĂ¡ria que Ă© cobrada. JĂ¡ fiquei em inĂºmeros hotĂ©is pelo Rio de Janeiro e se alguĂ©m quiser luxo, acredito que esse nĂ£o seja o tipo de hospedagem. NĂ£o tive nenhum tipo de problema, ar condicionado funcionou super bem, assim como Ă¡gua do chuveiro, etc. Claro que o hotel precisa de uma reforma, pois Ă© bem antigo… mas digo e repito, levando em consideraĂ§Ă£o o preço que paguei, me atendeu bem. A propĂ³sito, o estacionamento Ă© Ă³timo, nĂ£o Ă© no mesmo lugar, mas praticamente do lado. A rua Ă© bem movimentada por conta da escadaria Selaron e arcos da lapa logo abaixo.

Ficamos hospedados no Hotel Americano, no Rio de Janeiro, e infelizmente a experiĂªncia foi extremamente negativa. A Ăºnica coisa positiva Ă© a localizaĂ§Ă£o, que de fato Ă© boa, porĂ©m isso nĂ£o compensa os inĂºmeros problemas encontrados. Os quartos sĂ£o pĂ©ssimos: cama com lençol rasgado, cheiro forte e desagradĂ¡vel, travesseiros com manchas visĂ­veis e banheiro com iluminaĂ§Ă£o muito ruim, o que compromete totalmente o conforto e a higiene. AlĂ©m disso, escolhemos o hotel porque foi informado que havia Wi-Fi, pois precisarĂ­amos trabalhar durante a estadia, mas atĂ© o momento nĂ£o conseguimos nenhum sinal de internet. HĂ¡ hotĂ©is na mesma regiĂ£o com valores mais acessĂ­veis e qualidade muito superior. Diante de tudo isso, considero o hotel de pĂ©ssima qualidade e nĂ£o indico a hospedagem.
