Would definitely stay again
Stayed one night as a stopover to Cornwall. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and welcoming. My daughter and her husband also stayed with the dog who was left a basket of treats and made to feel very welcome. We had an evening meal and breakfast both of which were very good.

Good, apart from the cobwebs
The hotel is very nice and the food is excellent. However, there were a few cobwebs in the corners of the room. The bed was comfortable and the service was good.

Fine
This was our first time staying at The Sidcot since it changed from being a Premier Inn. It is still very much a Premier Inn, whether they change the look or not remains to be seen. I've given 4 out of 5 for comfort as the quilts are just too thick and warm. Other than that everything else was fine.

The hotel had a restaurant which provided breakfast in our stay. You could also choose to have lunch and dinner. There was a bar within the facility. The rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The manager managed to keep us in the same room without being moved to another which was very accommodating, as we stayed for two nights.

Convenient “stop over” on a longer trip further south.
Clean and comfortable and the restaurant food for both dinner and breakfast was excellent value.

Sidcott stay
Really nice stay. Staff were lovely and room was very good. Lovely bar and dining area. For me, I was a little disappointed with the breakfast for the price. However, my wife didn’t have the same issues. She just felt there could have been more choice on the breakfast menu.
Don’t let this detract from a really lovely hotel, with friendly staff, in a beautiful part of the world. Great for dogs and we were really central for trips out across the area. Will stay again

Basic but good
Fairly basic but good. Old fashioned but adequate hospitality/services in the room, clean. Millac for tea is a huge let down for me.

Me and doggo booked 3 nights here in mid May, due to the nature of having a dog it’s fair to say that you get used to life without fancy rooms and expensive furnishings and smart bathrooms….the Sidcot Arms was everything that we weren’t expecting. It was fancy and posh and modern and light and airy and new (literally only just renovated).
The bed was comfy the shower was amazing, it had air con and the hotel even sorted out a doggy treat box for my partner in crime.
Maybe a silly thing to point out but hotels that allow dogs don’t normally have an area where they can be exercised, the Sidcot Arms does. Whether it’s intended to or not the huge patch of grass separating the car park from the road served as the perfect place to let the dog off for his morning and evening walks……you know those times when you’ve done your main walks and you don’t want to go far.
In terms of the hotel and staff and welcome that we had I cannot fault this place however I do have one criticism but it’s not something the hotel can do anything about.
Due to this being a hotel suitable for an airport stay, on the morning we were checking out there were some other guests also checking out so at 3.45am the shuffling and rumbling began.
These particular guests thought it was a good idea to knock on their traveling party’s doors and have a conversation at normal speaking volume, upon check out they also very kindly opted to open the door wide and allow it to crash back onto their suitcases.
