We first visited Calakmul 20 years ago and were worried to see such a large development close to the site. But it surprised us with its sustainability, design, and the helpfulness of its staff. It enhances Calakmul instead of detracting from it, and it allows guests to visit who don’t want to bring a vehicle (we took the train). Highly recommended.

Excellent location to stay on a visit to Calakmul Ruins. The rooms and facilities are well maintained, the staff was courteous and helpful. The one draw back was the food, not a wide selection of choices for any of the meals and the taste did correspod with the high cost. Overall, I would definitely stay at the Mundo Maya again.

I thought I was dreaming! This place is magical! The pool has a view of the jungle tree tops and at night the stars! The food and service were above and beyond! The grounds are beautiful and very close to the archeological site and allowed us to enjoy the nature without having to drive back to town.

Hotel espectacular, en medio de la selva, habitaciones enormes, camas comodas y muy bién decoradas y buen mantenimiento. La piscina genial, agua fresquita i amacas tapadas para el sol, toallas. Pudimos estar en la piscina despues de la visita a calakmul y refrescarnos, hay una ducha también para cambiarte, fue genial. Solo un inconveniente, teníamos dos habitaciones y una estaba muy lejos de la otra en otra ala porque es muy grande,.. Lo peor el restaurante, no hay nada allí y todos los huéspedes cenan allí, tienen una carta muy reducida y se acabó la mitad de ellos, precio caro comparado con la habitación. Desayuno normal, esperábamos más, te traen un menú que poco puedes elegir, no hay buffet. En general pero lo recomiendo. Ideal para visitar calakmul avprimera hora de la mañana, esta a unos 15’.
