6/10
Positives:
Decent size room.
Comfortable bed (except just one lumpy pillow).
Set in the jungle, built in sympathetic style, in dark woods.
On the right side of town for the airport and falls (both a 20 minute cab ride).
Negatives:
Feels dated and tired in places.
Paper thin walls - you can hear your neighbours fart.
Tiny toilet seat - barely get a modest sized UK arse on it - Americans beware.
Swimming pool is unappealing.
Breakfast is very average- stale croissants, buffet only (no eggs to order, only overcooked scrambled eggs), poor coffee. Fruit is ok.
Lunch was awful - veggie burger was some weird bean paste with aubergine in a dry bun. Dinner was inedible. Tough chicken breast and under cooked fries.
There’s nothing near the hotel. You’re a 5-10 minute cab ride from town (US$7.50 each way). The restaurants there aren’t great.
Staff forgot to order our morning taxi to the airport.
The falls are stunning. Especially from the Brazil side. It’s US$80 in a taxi there and back plus park entrance.
Two days in Iguazu is enough. Especially in winter (June/July) when the rain and cool air make it rather grim at times.
