Have used hotel on quite a few occasions, always welcoming, clean basic rooms at a great price. Room we stayed in this time was small bit everything we needed. Downside was guests above us had loose floorboards so heard every step and pigeons right outside our window making an awful noise constantly!

Mine are a clean and secure place to kip. Got that, with helpful and polite staff, well-lit courtyard and 24h attendance. I would stay again.

The radiator had pink dye down it, which was also found on the "clean and fresh" towels. I was asked to pay a £100 sercurity fee upon my arrival as failure to do so was going to prevent me checking in. This was not stated on the website at all when I booked my stay. Reception staff were adamant that it was on the website but no matter how many times I told them they were having none of it. Even the guests checking in after me were shocked so there's proof it wasn't just a careless mistake and misunderstanding of my own. There is actually 4 blocks to the hotel each of which has a different door posing a security risk!! Found a slug in my bathroom and crack in the freshold slabs of the bathroom. There was a dent in the floorboards under the carpet near my bedside table which could have caused me to injure my ankle and/or foot. The view from my window was someone elses back garden that could be accessed by others (so much for privacy when my room and bathroom window is literally in someone's garden). I would never ever stay here again. You get one pillow that you have to fold to get a decent night sleep. The duvet is as thin as anything. Beds are hard. Carpet is outdated. Don't stay here I don't recommend unless your desperate and beware they ask for a 100 pound sercurity fee upon arrival and you get this back 3 to 7 days after checkout which I'm yet to see if I even get back. Appalled is an understatement.

Booked at Britannia, stayed before and good, moved to Lucky 8 due room mtce probs - sister hotel great; restful, comfortable sleep, appreciate the toiletries and tea/coffee etc. Ilford high st is nearby, great choice of cuisine and shops. I have been using the facility for the last more than 6 months staying there for few days almost every month and it worth's the money. although it becomes little noisy when the house is full and all the rooms are occupied but does not bother much. The rooms are clean and staff is cooperative and friendly. Manager Mr Haseeb takes care of everything at personal level and it always ready with a smiley face to listen and help you.

Not too bad for the price

For the price, our room was reasonable. (£50 for one night) Could do with a bit of a refresh and maybe some spare pillows. Bed was reasonably comfortable and warm. Shower cubicle is a little small and the shower needs a bit more grunt, as it's a bit of a trickle (new washer in the handset would help). If you were staying for a few days, there's a little kitchenette between a couple of the rooms, arranged like a 2 room apartment. Had a fridge and microwave in our room too. Was clean and tidy, though the smell of bleach was a little overpowering.

Change of heart

Not very happy with service or quality of amenities. Although I've stayed into his hotel before this time it was quite poor. The lock on my door was not working, after bringing it to the attention of the receptionist he said it will be done within the hour..only for me to return 6 hours later with the same problem. Furthermore my car was blocked on the drive by another car so manoeuvring out was very difficult. Would not recommend to anyone wishing a restful stay.

The beds are all gone, we were unable to sleep as the mattress was not comfortable at all, the room wiil require some refurbishment. Though we had a free parking which is good, plus you have to deposit £100 🤔, what if someone does not have that much to put down, i really don't know the logic behind the £100
