Quaint hotel from the 50’s the freeway is right close but the place has been updated with double pain windows. The whole town is a short walk from the hotel, TJ’s is on the same lot and has great food.

I often drive between the Bay and Reno NV for work and personal reasons. Last night I was too tired after a long day of working and stopped off as Colfax is about midway. I was pleasantly surprised, quick check-in and a comfortable bed. Good night sleep made the morning drive a breeze. Will stop in again when traveling if needed.

Great location! Near lakes, rivers, historical sights, dining, fast food, coffee shops, the highway, and other cities are close by. The hotel itself is a bit old and run-down. The pillows are as flat as pancakes, the floorboards were tapped down in some areas, and the shower tile was coming off the wall. Some of the outlets no longer work, and the room smells like smoke.

Attention needs to be paid to the overflowing garbage I encountered on my way to my room. The place is old but it all seemed clean otherwise once I was in my room. Nothing fancy, but it can get you through a night or two and it's got its own charm.

The room was clean. Furniture sparse, but in good condition. Bed was comfortable and the bedding clean. Heating and AC unit was adequate for the size of the room. Bathroom was worn, but clean, and included a new shower unit with hot water on demand. All and all a good road stop inn for a couple of nights stay.
