Excellent experience at Hotel Neón in Punta Cana. Pros:the staff was very friendly and attentive, the facilities were modern and well maintained, and the food was delicious and varied. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying a comfortable, pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!!! Cons: Bad smell outdoor behind the building Only 1 ATM and out of service!

The room shower would flood and hold water. No water pressure to take a shower, the water wouldn’t get hot then when I tried to wash at the sink the sink leaked water all over the bathroom floor. I had to wait three days before I paid to upgrade my room. The worst room experience ever. Beautiful resort horrible rooms!

The Hotel Neon was, well, average. The rooms were clean, if a bit worn, but also sparse - a table and 2 chairs would make a world of difference (there was only the 2 beds). If you are booked there, be sure to request a room with an even number (trust me, you'll appreciate it, as the odd-numbered rooms back onto a disco that plays music until very late at night). Food on the compound is expensive. A plate of chicken strips with fries and a plate with 3 tacos was a whopping $55.00 USD. Meanwhile, off compound I was able to get a whole lobster plate and a mixed seafood plate for $70.00 USD, so, you know... On the plus side, the staff were extremely accommodating, and treated us well. Many of the staff speak english, and even those that don't try very hard to communicate with you. 5/5 stars! Final Note: the currency of preference on the compound remains the US Dollar - in fact most cashiers have a calculator at the cash, and will do the USD- DOP conversion in front of you if you are using DOP.
