The motel is tired and in need of a make over the AC was noisy so kept us awake during the night The room was tired with the bed next to the window that people walked past, so we had to keep curtains closed The property is between a rail track and highway The pool was was good but no changing facilities

Dated, tired & tried to charge higher price

The price I booked at was not the price the hotel tried to charge me; it was $5.00 extra. It’s not a lot of money but it’s the principle that it is inaccurate. When this was queried the manager/owner claimed not to have Hotel.com bookings but this is how I booked the room; when querying the rate difference she became very condescending towards myself and asking why I was querying a 1% difference. I said it was the principle and then asked whether I wanted it to be adjusted which I said yes to, she with gritted teeth agreed and wished us a frosty farewell. What happens if each booking gets added an extra $5 added to it, it can add up to a lot of capital??? The place is dated, the room dark, the mattress uncomfortable but the location was good. The price would be fair if the mattress was comfortable and if the staff that we dealt with was more professional.

Toilet was dirty didn’t flush properly. The tub was backed up with dirty water -would not drain and had stains. The beds and pillows were not comfortable. The wooden chipped bed frame stuck out from the corner resulting in many sore shins. We had to ask for towels and garbage to be removed. The room was not equipped with a smoke detector. Check-in was not a good experience . I booked through Expedia last summer -requested 2 queen beds. Before flight departure I was told I only have 1 bed and that they could upgrade me for an another 200. This is not acceptable and they made the error.

The walls are very thin between rooms so you can hear the people in the next room just walking around. The train tracks are also nearby but we didn't hear the train past 10:30pm. The rooms otherwise are pretty nice and cozy. I love the cabin style interior. The property is family friendly with a playground and picnic tables in the middle. The front desk staff are very friendly!

New owners clearly only care about money. Their facility is old, dirty, the cheapest toiletries, old ragged towels, walls and floors are patched up. Toilet paper and Kleenex are like sandpaper. Pool water is cold, floors dirty. Very poor lodging conditions, especially for Canmore, close to Banff. You would expect better.
