Quick stop in Normandie

We stayed at Hôtel de la Place after a long six-hour drive through central France to Normandy. We booked through Hotels.com and upgraded our room, but sadly it didn’t meet our expectations. The room felt very tired and worn out. There was nowhere comfortable to sit together, and several items were either damaged, broken, or in urgent need of repair. It definitely needs refurbishment. That said, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the front of the hotel is quite attractive. It’s a real shame the rooms don’t match the appearance of the exterior. ⸻ 🇫🇷 Avis en français – Hôtel de la Place, Aunay-sur-Odon Nous avons séjourné à l’Hôtel de la Place après un long trajet de six heures à travers le centre de la France jusqu’en Normandie. Nous avons réservé via Hotels.com et avons pris une chambre supérieure, mais malheureusement, cela n’a pas répondu à nos attentes. La chambre était très fatiguée et vieillotte. Il n’y avait aucun endroit confortable pour s’asseoir ensemble, et plusieurs éléments étaient abîmés, cassés ou avaient vraiment besoin d’être réparés. Une rénovation est clairement nécessaire. Cela dit, le personnel était très sympathique et accueillant, et la façade de l’hôtel est jolie. Dommage que les chambres ne soient pas à la hauteur de l’extérieur.

Hôtel ne mérite pas 3 étoiles : pas de clim, il fait très chaud dans la chambre, impossible d'ouvrir la fenêtre étant sur la rue et tâche noire dans la douche (mais propre). De ce fait, prix un peu élevé !

Gekozen voor 1 overnachting. Prima hotel in een dorp. Alles zuiver en goed onderhouden, vriendelijk personeel. Jammer dat er geen lift was. We hadden een hond bij ons en de trappen zijn van marmer, dus glad. Was een hele onderneming om hem naar beneden te krijgen.

Un hôtel tout juste correcte mais resto au top

Bon séjour malgré quelques points noir au niveau de l’hôtel. À noter quand même que le restaurant est vraiment top. Les petits problèmes rencontrés sont : Pas de gel douche ni de savon en libre service à disposition... Un seul jeu de serviettes pour 2... Un lit vraiment très (trop) mou... Un mitigeur de douche trop difficile à manipuler pour régler la température. Il restait bloqué alors douche très peu agréable à prendre.

Une bonne surprise ! Situé hors des trajets les plus fréquentés, l'hôtel vaut le détour. Confortable, situé dans une bourgade agréable, il offre une palette de destinations proches. Et surtout, deux points importants : la présence d'un restaurant de qualité à des prix aussi raisonnables que ceux des chambres ; sans oublier la qualité de l'accueil (bravo !). La présence d'un bar ajoute le charme d'une vie locale que l'on n'aurait pas envie de quitter. Merci.
