The unit is in an ancient building and not a very nice neighborhood but once you get inside the unit itself is very nice it’s fresh it’s clean it just doesn’t have a lot of amenities like there’s nobody making sure that all the sugar should’ve been replaced but wasn’t or Kleenex there’s no Kleenex there and other little nice things I’ve come to expect weren’t there. A coffee maker but only 2 cups so when I set them out to be replaced cause they were dirty somehow they made decided that I didn’t want the cups and just took them away why would she drop off extra coffee if we had no cups?? it’s not the biggest issue in the world but it seemed like it should be something that is able to be fixed quickly and I wound up having a couple phone calls email a day and then that when we checked out finally there were two clean cups there but I’ve been sick and I wanted to have tea the night before and there was no cups to do it in and it was just miserable. Our contact said he’d be over in an hour with clean cups but he never showed up and finally it was the next day it would’ve been better if he had just said he couldn’t get there till the next day. The dining area in the hotel was fitted out with lots of nice tables but they didn’t turn the heat on so it was miserably cold and no one was there no one to ask anything no cups to get nothing. It’s all the problems of an offsite manager. And maid that doesn’t speak English

The room was immaculate and was cleaned everyday. Very modern and fresh. Struggled with the plug for the tea and coffee machine, though! The lady who greeted us was very helpful and courteous. The b and b is in an area close to landmarks. Great location. On booking was not aware that breakfast was not served on site. Given vouchers for local cafe on the opposite side of the road. Enjoyed our stay at the Elysium Relais but would book a room with a city view next time.

Let’s start with the plusses: • The location is perfect. 5-minute walk to Spaccanapoli and Spanish Quarter and other tourist spots. • The rooms are comfortable and clean. The not so good points: • On Orbitz it says breakfast included. But if you dig deep, it actually costs an extra $16 per day for breakfast. I told the owner this is misleading and she gave me two passes for breakfast at the café across the street. Only issue is the pass was only for cappuccino and a croissant not a sfogliatella. That’s a $7 breakfast. Hope you get more if you paid $16. • The real issue is the elevator in the building. You enter through a dark, dirty parking garage to an elevator. During parts of the day there is an attendant, and you need to pay 20 cents to use the elevator. Hope you have change. Day one the elevator was down for a few hours. Day 2 it was down for 24 hours, and we had to walk up and down the steps multiple times to the fifth floor. 108 steps if you are counting. The day we left the worst case happened. We had to leave at 4:00 am and the elevator was down again, and we had to haul our heavy suitcases down five stories. One of us could have fallen and been seriously hurt. • The beds only had a sheet, no blanket. Maybe I was supposed to ask for a blanket, but I have never been in a hotel anywhere in my many travels where only a sheet was on the bed. The owner was nice and tried to do right but could not overcome these issues.

Das Zimmer war aufgezeichnet ordentlich und sehr sauber. Die Bettwäsche/ Kissen war komfortabel und angenehm neutral im Geruch. Martina war immer erreichbar und sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Standort war sehr praktisch um die Altstadt und spaccanapoli zu Fuss zu erkunden. Im 3. stock war der Strassenverkehr mässig zu hören. Wir kommen wieder zurück - danke für die tolle Gastfreundschaft.
