It's a hostel! DO NOT THINK THAT THIS IS A HOTEL! The price per stay is outrageous for it being a hostel. We paid a hotel price for not a hotel experience. The room was freezing the entire time. It's been a loooooong time since I slept in a bunk bed lol. No real amenities. Location is what saves the stay. You have options for food within walking distance. Ride sharing to and from this place isn't bad either. I highly doubt that I will stay here again. First time for everything I suppose.

Honestly, the only problem was their customer service. I was at their premises; they booked me in a mixed dorm while I had booked a Junior Suite. They had to reallocate me because it was booked. Since they contacted me after 3 PM, I had to spend more cash to move to their new premises. Other than that, the room was comfy; the mattress felt like a rock- it was rock solid.

For a low-cost, shared bathroom experience, it was excellent, very clean with CTA stations nearby. Also number 65 bus takes you to Navy Pier, very convenient. I recommend Grand House for location and low cost stay.

The property is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and even concert venues! The communal living spaces were well maintained and comfortable, and privacy was never a concern when needed.

Within walking distance of Chicago's most beloved institutions (Richard's Bar and The Salt Shed), this well equipped hostel put us in the heart of the action. Affordable parking and helpful staff secure Grand House's place near the top of on my return trip itinerary.

Staff decided to hammer outside our room at 8am in the morning to take the railing off. Erie vibes, small bed in "luxury sweet". Shower takes 10mins to warm up.

Truly barebones accommodations. It was clean but not comfortable. My room had a window into a linen closet I couldn't access - no big deal except the closet had a light on at all times that bled into my room (there was some paper over the window that did not block any light). Hot water was also spotty but maybe I just showered the same time as everyone else.

The room was simple, but functional. Unfortunately, the window was not secure, and as a result, there was an unusually high amount of outside road noise and street noise that was audible in the room, which prevented me from getting a decent night sleep.
