We had a great time at the Stanley. Glorious old building and grounds with lots to do and really good food. Historical tour was fun and enjoyed watching the ghost tour groups go past. Our room could use some updating, but at least most everything was in keeping with the history of the hotel. The construction going on did not bother us and while parking can be a challenge, we always found a spot.

Beautiful old hotel. We had an issue with cleanliness of our bed, and the staff addressed this immediately and to our satisfaction. Not a quiet place- all rooms have portable AC (the building is OLD and has no central air), and this is noisy. Walls are also fairly this so you will hear your neighbors. Beautiful scenery and architecture. Highly recommend!

The place is completely under construction. The elevator was not in service. So we had to lug our heavy bags up the stairs. It’s kinda a tourist trap. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat look elsewhere. The tours are every hour. All over the property. The price is steep for the construction sight views. The room was cute. Bed was clean and comfortable.

our stay in the main lodge was okay. Room of course, was immaculate and the property though aged was well maintained. But have to criticize the complete absence of personnel at the lodge. Also, the elevator being out of order made getting to our second-floor room a real bear. There is a lot of new construction underway, but I hope as much money is being spent on maintenance of the old property as well.

Your opinion of this hotel will depend upon your expectation. If you want a 5 star hotel equal to the best Hyatt Regency you will be greatly disappointed, especially for the price. If you are looking for an iconic hotel with lots of history and character you will be very pleased. I would recomend booking the two bed rooms because they are much bigger.

We were in the Lodge Building with many steps to enter the building. There was no staff to help with our heavy luggage or any ramp to the building. Our room had peeling paint on the windows and had a portable loud air conditioner. When we turned it off to open the two windows and turn on the ceiling fan, the ceiling fan had no control knob and would not turn on. Luckily 10 minutes later a ghost must have turned it on high. After that we could not turn it off. Also one of the two windows had no screen Other than that the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good with great water pressure. Overall our stay was nice. The History tour and the Shing tour were great. Be prepared for the many tourists coming in and out of the main hotel looking around and going on tours. Plus there is a lot of construction going on behind the main hotel and the Lodge building with noise starting at 7 am. Dinner in the MacGregor Chophouse was excellent. Casual dining in the Cascades room was good for lunch but there is no different dinner menu.

This one is a definite stay for the history. Good staff, good food, great scenery. A couple of things to note: 1. There is construction going on (back and front of property). I'm sure it'll be amazing when it's all done, but, it looks like it could be months out. 2. Some rooms are small with a queen bed. Not a deal breaker. Pretty comfortable bed. Overall, a must stay!

I have to admit I was a little disappointed that we were not staying in the historic part of the Stanley. Rather, we were in the Aspire, which is fairly new. That said, it’s lovely. We stayed in a room that was very small and did not have a closet. Rather, it had a short armoire that was not tall enough to accommodate a dress or even a suit jacket. We ended up storing our luggage in the stand alone bathtub. The bathroom was huge compared to the bedroom. The staff could not have been nicer.

This is a historical beautiful property and if you in the area I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. However the mattress is too soft and not very comfortable and there is no central AC so rooms do get hot even in winter and the only way to keep cool is opening the window which is fine but that makes the main door flap making a noice like someone is banging on the door. Otherwise the property is amazing with multiple bars/restaurants and all sort of activities to do.

The hotel was beautiful and historic. However, nobody told us that there was no central air conditioning nor that there was construction going on at the hotel when I booked our room. The television turned on and sound came out but the picture didn't come on. We were woke up before 8 am by a jackhammer that was consistent until we checked out at 11 am. I would never have booked this hotel, nor paid that much. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel and our trip to Estes Park.
