Great location and setting; VERY small room

Great location and setting, very small room with poor AC. Excellent support staff. We wanted a kitchenette so we could do breakfast in the room. Technically yes this has a kitchenette, but honestly I have never seem something so tiny and crammed. You can literally open the fridge while lying in bed. :) I really thought this room would have a little extra space due to the kitchenette, but it does NOT. Also, a huge downside: there is no sink in the bathroom. You have to leave the bathroom and come around to the kitchen side to wash your hands. Yuk. The other problem we encountered is that the AC does not remove humidity, at all. It was so damp in our room that we thought the sheets were wet from washing. Everything was super clammy. The staff were so nice in trying to help, and even got us a dehumidifier, but it was pretty miserable if the dehumidifier wasn't running full blast 24/7. All that said, you cannot beat the location if you want to spend time in Peninisula State Park. And, the pickleball courts are a great addition.

This pleasant motel had rooms in several buildings in a wooded setting far enough off the road to get rid of highway noise. Our room was on the second floor without an elevator. This was not an issue for me, and only a mild one for my wife, who has some knee arthritis: However, anyone with mobility problems should specifically ask for a 1st floor room. There were nice picnic tables in front of our building with grills for cooking out. The rooms were clean and well kept up.

Wonderful stay at Parkwood Lodge

We had such a wonderful stay at Parkwood Lodge in Door County! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest welcome — the staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our entire stay. Our room was spotless and cozy, and the lodge is in a fantastic location, close to so many great spots in Door County while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. One of our favorite parts was the pool and hot tub area — so clean and well-maintained! They even have a convenient shower right off the pool/hot tub area so you can rinse off, which is such a thoughtful touch. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Parkwood Lodge, for making our trip so enjoyable!

Musty, Moldy Smell

We stayed four nights in Room 119 and had a disappointing and concerning experience. The room smelled musty and moldy from the moment we arrived. For the first two days, we tried to fix it ourselves by opening windows and running the fan and A/C. On day three, we reported the issue. Staff were kind and brought a dehumidifier (which still read 67% humidity hours later) and offered to spray the room with an unspecified product. That same morning, my whole family woke up coughing, and I developed headaches and a pins-and-needles sensation in my head—symptoms that improved when we were outside. We were told we could check out a day early without penalty, but there were no vacancies nearby for a family of four, so we had no choice but to stay the full four nights. After health symptoms started, we checked the room more carefully and discovered DampRid containers hidden under both beds—one mattress even had the bottom fabric ripped open to fit it. We also found black spots (possibly mold), water damage, rust, and dirt under furniture and along the walls. We were offered a 10% discount, which didn’t feel appropriate given the air quality and health concerns. We chose Parkwood based on great reviews, but this experience didn’t match the reputation. I would not recommend staying here until rooms are professionally cleaned and moisture issues are resolved.

Nice place to relax with family and friends

Nice lodge/ resort with amenities to relax with family and friends including pool, deck, fire pit, and tennis courts. Good location near Pennisula State Park and Fish Creek, but too far to walk into town. Room was a bit musty, but they had a dehumidifier to help manage. Plenty of room in the one-bedroom suite.
