Our four-night stay at The Merenchi by Alexander-Kane was nothing short of exceptional. Located right next to the Radisson Blu at Gintota, the property enjoys a prime yet peaceful setting, just a short walk from a clean, quiet beach that feels almost private due to the lack of crowds. We were privileged to be the very first guests and stayed in the Terrace Suite, which offered exclusive access to a private terrace with dual views—one overlooking a serene garden and the other opening toward the beach.
The property exudes a refined, calming vibe, with top-quality finishes throughout. The rooms are spacious, beautifully lit, and filled with natural sunlight during the day. At night, leaving the doors open lets you drift off to the soothing sound of ocean waves. The grand lobby, elegant dining area, cosy couches, and a lovely indoor guest-only pool elevate the overall experience.
The food deserves special mention—freshly cooked, organic, and absolutely delicious. Hosts Sanjeeva and Asanka were warm, attentive, and made us feel truly at home. With Galle Fort just 10 minutes away and Unawatuna Beach 15 minutes away, the location is ideal. Secure, peaceful, and perfect for private terrace dinners or small parties, The Merenchi is highly recommended for a memorable stay in Galle.
