Around 30min drive to Cradle Mountain Is a little fat if u want to hiking in CM and the come to hotel only one road that’s hard and much curved need careful Otherwise we lost the passport in the room ,at night we send the email and call the reception for help but they can’t find it . Last day we just drive 2hrs back to hotel check by ourself The passport really in the room one drawer

Average stay

Rented the two bedroom lodge. Only has one bathroom. Very simple lodge. Tv has only one channel (not even a channel, should be one ever-lopping movie). beds were very soft and we didn't have a good sleep. The only good thing is the heater works. We stayed on the X'mas night. We waited 10 mins for check-in as there was only one person at the reception. We also pre-ordered X'mas meal at their restaurant. We reconfirmed our booking at the restaurant after checking in. However, after we were seated, we waited for 45 mins for our X'mas dinner, as they have completely forgotten us/our meal. Anyway, their food is quite good, big portion.

Check reviews carefully before you book

I suggest to check reviews from other platforms as well when you book the hotel. Official descriptions of the guest house is not comprehensive. I never expect that we have to drive 35 mins from the cradle mountain information centre, including a 7km unpaved road to reach the hotel. The room is clean and spacious, but furnishing is a bit old-fashioned. No entertainment facilities available in the room and the hotel. Not all room types offer cooking facilities. The triails to the lake and falls are much more challenging than expected, and there is no maintenance. It could be dangerous to hiking beginner. The only restaurant serves good food and the waiter, Steve is nice.

Quiet hotel

A quiet hotel about 8km away from Cradle Mountain Road with some good view walk trails. Dinner and breakfast were good but dinner was not included. You can see the feeding session to the wildlife like wallabies and possums after dinner, they are very lovely. I like the decoration of the restaurant. Staff was nice and polite. The room was very comfy with Jacuzzi inside my room. Free parking outside your unit with laundry facilities. However, the staff charged a dish which I did not consume because they missed the order of my dinner. The staff promised to cancel it from my bill. When I checked out, I paid the bill but I did not aware the dish was counted in as the bill was not in details of what I had. It was too late to notice that they charged the missed dish when I was driving away from the hotel but I did not return to get it back as I had to stick on my travel schedule. I hope the staff won't make the same mistake again.

It is relaxing experience with the stay in Lemonthyme Lodge. No internet connection will keep you free from the busy world. The individual lodge staying is warm like a family house. The air is fresh around and the restaurant is good quality.

We just love Lemonthyme!

We were married here in 2015 and return regularly. It is a truely unique place, away from it all out in the beautiful Tasmanian rainforest. A place to relax, get in touch with nature, escape the hustle and bustle and recharge. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, if a little outdated. The king beds could use an upgrade ie. make them a king, not two singles joined in the middle. But the cabins are warm, light filled and surrounded by the rainforest. We stayed as a family, 2 kids under 5, and cooked lunch and dinners in the 2 bed cabin. The kitchen is adequate for self-contained, if you are prepared to cook on an electric frypan and bring all your condiments. Perhaps they could offer a cooking pack with oil, salt, pepper etc? We will be back again soon. Our kids love doing the little bushwalks, seeing all the animals and exploring amongst the ferns. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, drinking fabulous Tasmanian wine and watching life go by.

We stayed in Devon, it was slightly overpriced for the condition. The sliding door lock needs repair, cupboard door in front of the fridge is starting to come off it hinges, curtains were in poor condition and we killed several spiders inside the room. On a brighter side the surroundings and scenery was just amazing from the deck and spa.

The luxury Spa suite was very clean. The toiletries were ok but would have expected a few more and also better quality. Also the coffee/tea was just about sufficient in the room although again, it wouldn’t have taken much more to make it feel luxury instead of OK. The restaurant and breakfast were a little underwhelming - not really enough choice in menu and breakfast was a little self-serve cafe like ... I would have liked an option if room service for both but neither where an option. The location was beautiful and
