On arrival we were greeted by a gentleman at reception, he offered us an upgrade for £15 per night to a room which he informed us was normally £120 per night with a king size bed and a spa bath. We paid for the upgrade, once in the room we realised that the “king size” bed was not king size at all but two singles pushed together, with a king size duvet cover but a double duvet inside it! Some of the jets in the bath did not work and the lighting in the bathroom was very dark. The tv took at least 10 mins to actually come on, we asked the receptionist how to get the tv to work and he just replied with “switch it on”. One of the cups in the room was not at all clean, neither was the spoon, we asked for some more sugar and coffee and were told by two different members of staff to check the wardrobe, however there wasn’t any in there. There were cobwebs all across one of the windows. for the most expensive room in the hotel it was one of the noisiest rooms facing the main road with no double glazing, and very big windows to have no net curtains up, it felt as though anyone in the houses opposite or walking past could see straight into the room
