The staff were very nice and accommodating. Although there was no flexibility for early check-in unless you pay £15 per hour, they did take our luggage for safekeeping, which was helpful.
The hotel itself is beautiful—full of character, with an elegant, well-kept historic charm. The bathroom and toilet were lovely and finished to a high standard. However, the bed in the Fairplay Suite was quite lumpy and far too soft for our liking. We had a rather restless night, as we found ourselves constantly turning and repositioning to avoid discomfort. Of course, this may be subjective, and some guests may prefer a softer bed.
The room was spacious, clean, and included a separate seating area, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, and the location is fantastic.
