酒店位於京都白川旁，感覺恬靜，景色優美。靠近市營地下鐵東山站。步行去河原町、南禪寺、蹴上傾斜鐵道、八坂神社等景點都是十至十五分鐘左右。整間酒店光線充足，不論是大堂或房間的裝修主題都以石和木為主。職員態度有禮，由於整棟酒店只有九間房間，所以職員們應該會記住每位入住旅客的樣子。 房間很整潔簇新，可看到白川河景。移動浴室木門偶爾會有小木刺掉落，不過只是小問題。雪櫃內有Perrier礦泉水、可口可樂、SAPPORO黑啤等。浴室有一個木製大浴缸，水龍頭流出的水有浴鹽味道(?)。打開浴室木窗便是大玻璃，玻璃下半部貼上了半透明膠紙，所以看不到河景。如果走太近的話，街上的人或許會見到住客的影子。洗手盆旁邊有Laura Ashley沐浴套裝和雪肌精護膚套裝，一般酒店都不會提供這些用品。 地下大堂是前台、guest lounge和食早餐的地方。Guest lounge提供許多食物和飲品如著名的京都北山malebranche茶之菓。雖然lounge晚上十點會關閉，不過酒店附近亦有24小時營業的超市和便利店。 酒店門外馬路狹窄，但勉強可以停泊一部車輛。即使呼叫的士也沒有大問題。

Best stay of our whole trip. Tons of room in the hotels and a beautifully displayed Kyoto style breakfast at a customized time each morning. Staff was always friendly and cordial. We will be looking forward to our next stay here when we are in the area again! 10/10 would highly recommend

This hotel was so special! From the rooms, to the products in the rooms, the wonderful snacks and drinks available all highly curated for your enjoyment. The Cyprus deep bathtub was wonderful after a long day of walking. The rooms are high end, clean and beautifully designedl. The Japanese breakfasts were amazing. The staff was incredible and we would love to stay there again.

FIVE STARS! This was by far the best hotel in all of our Japan trip. The staff was excellent and super nice! The room was super spacious and the bathroom was huge - we loved the shower. They also had some snacks and water available all the time as compliments and were refilled daily. Location was also great, with Kyotos Gion District for dinning and largest Temples all within a short walk.

The location was amazing, right beside a river and walking distance from the center of Gion. The staff were extremely professional and attentive. The room was beautiful, with elegant modernized ryokan-style decor and a huge Japanese bath. A very new luxury property, with all the little details such as touchless elevator buttons. Definitely coming back.

Even though I’ve visited Kyoto more than seven times, this was my first stay at this luxury hotel—and it was truly unforgettable. From the stunning exterior to the pristine room condition and the serene river flowing right in front, the peaceful atmosphere offered deep healing just by sitting there. Above all, the hospitality and service were world-class; I truly felt like I was receiving the best service Kyoto has to offer. The location is also perfect: just 5 minutes from the station and a 10-minute walk to the downtown area, with many major attractions within walking distance. Waking up in the morning, opening the window, and listening to the sound of the water and the gentle breeze was a highlight of my trip. It was a perfect stay in every way.

AKEKURE Kyoto Shirakawa — 10/10. Full stop. There are hotels that get everything right. And then there’s AKEKURE. This nine-room boutique opened in December 2025 and it already feels like it’s been here forever — like it was always supposed to exist exactly where it does, tucked among willow trees along a small river in one of Kyoto’s most quietly beautiful neighborhoods. We arrived at 3pm. The exterior stopped us before we even walked in. The facade is considered and deliberate — the kind of design that tells you immediately someone cared deeply about every decision made here. The security doors opened, the staff came forward, and from that moment the experience never dipped below exceptional. The team spoke English fluently, which mattered for our family, but more than the language — they were warm without being performative. Professional without being stiff. They walked us to our room, explained every amenity, and because I mentioned I have a background in architecture, they took the time to walk me through specific design decisions made during construction. That kind of attentiveness isn’t trained. It’s culture. The room itself. Surrounded by willow trees. A small river visible from the window. Kyoto quiet in a way that Tokyo simply isn’t. Breakfast is Japanese-style Kyoto cuisine prepared under the supervision of HANAKAGAMI. It is not a breakfast. It is an experience with all five senses engaged simultaneously. Meget fint hotel med en enestående beliggenhed – både i forhold til kvarteret og placeringen direkte ned til floden. Vi havde et skønt værelse med en daybed i vinduet, hvor man kunne ligge og nyde udsigten over vandet. Hotellet virkede helt nyt, og alt fremstod i perfekt stand. Vi valgte den japanske morgenmad, og selvom det måske kan virke lidt voldsomt med fisk tidligt om morgenen, var den så god, at vi valgte den alle fire dage, vi boede på hotellet. Personalet var ekstremt flinke, opmærksomme og servicemindede, og de gjorde virkelig meget for, at gæsterne skulle føle sig velkomne. Serviceniveauet var imponerende højt. For os, der er vant til en mere uformel og ligeværdig omgangstone, kunne det til tider føles lidt i overkanten, men det var samtidig tydeligt, at det kom fra et oprigtigt ønske om at give gæsterne den bedst mulige oplevelse.
