Very friendly staff. Good location, comfortable bed. The room had everything you need. And it was cleaned and my tea and buscuit station was replenished between the two nights. The breakfast was to die for and the food in the restaurant was very tasty

Night at Nags Head

Everything was lovely. The staff the food very secure parking( came on motorcycle) Great pub good selection of beers. Only fault was roome very hot, positioned over the kitchen. Put it down to hot weather, but then next day it rained and temp dropped but not in room.

One night away

Lovely food, great service. Room was clean, thankfully had a fan in the room as it was such a hot day/night. Very quiet in the respect of pub noise, couldn't be heard. Unfortunately there is a very noisy extractor fan, but that did get turned off at around 10.30. But it was back on at 6.30 this morning. Breakfast was really nice. Little water bottles in the room nice touch, but cold ones would be better. Perfect poached eggs.

Great place to stay, but on a sunday everywhere closes at 9. No food served on Sunday night and the chinese over the road only takes cash. Clean ,warm and welcoming. Suited me for the 1 night i stayed. Limited taxi service due to local schools allocating all the early runs

10/10 Exceptional

Very impressed all round good service, large room and bed, well stocked mini kitchen, decent powerful shower, large towels. Parking good, breakfast top quality and well presented. All staff friendly and helpful, will certainly recommend the Nags head. I booked 2 rooms and other person agrees with overall great stay.

A lucky one night stay

We booked to stay at the Nag’s Head entirely by chance because it is 5 miles or so from the place where we were going to pick up our new puppy! After a 5 hour drive from Newcastle the pub staff gave a friendly welcome. We were so glad that we hadn’t stopped to eat. Turns out this is a Gastro pub without the Gastro prices. Incredible food and array of beers. The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was also amazing. Fantastic staff, little gem of a village pub.

Great value for money

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working in the area. The room was clean with en suite bathroom. Great food on an evening and breakfast. Can fault the staff, very friendly. Limited parking to the rear and over the road.

6/10 Good

This pub with rooms is ok for an overnight stay, it is definitely not somewhere for a holiday stay. The room is quite basic & as with so many basic rooms no plug sockets beside the bed (a pet hate of mine). The en-suite shower room was ok but the frosted glass window looked straight out onto the public road & buildings opposite but the window had no blind/curtains which is a definite no no for me. The only access to the rooms is via a very narrow open wooden spiral staircase, there is no other access option so if you needed to carry more than a small overnight case it would be extremely difficult & dangerous, likewise anyone with the slightest of mobility issues would find it either impossible or extremely difficult to access the rooms. I was asked at check in to complete a breakfast menu form & I specifically asked if they had fruit tea & was told emphatically that they did however when I arrived at breakfast there were none so I was not able to have a hot drink with my breakfast, not the end of the world but don’t tell guests you offer something if you don’t. All in all it’s an ok place but there are probably better options around for the same cost.
