What a lovely old building to stay in. Very relaxed. Wonderful grounds, although perhaps a little more attention could be on the fish pond. We were in the additional annex, with a really large, spacious room with two additional beds separated, and a large king size bed. All the usual items, tv, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, chest of drawers, make up table with mirror, full length mirror, heater, two windows (opening), a pair of armchairs and a wardrobe with a dozen wooden hangers. The not small toilet room had a bath, shower, wc and washbowl with work surface and mirror. Naturally a heated towel rail was fitted to the wall. A full size closing door completed the suite. Definately a family room and as such extremely good value.

I was impressed from the moment I saw this attractive stone building, on a slight rise which gives good views of the beauty of Swanage Bay and the nearby coast. A very friendly and helpful welcome from the moment I came through the door, but not overdone either. My room had a view of the bay and was comfortable and completely clean (as was the entire place). A good space for breakfast - does not do evening meals but many nearby possibilities for that. Large and well cared for garden area an additional amenity. For the price I paid it exceeded my expectations and I can certainly envisage returning for a longer stay, it would be a good base for exploring this attractive part of the country.

Lovely old fashioned hotel, with lots of character and charm. We enjoyed the lovely gardens, they're beautifully tended and full of interesting features.

Stunning building, but with a lot of renovation happening in the grounds - will be amazing when finished. Very comfortable bed anc clean. Bathroom in desperate need of a refit. A lot more could be made of the bar service

Had room 4. It was very spacious overlooking the garden. Lovely. Unfortunately the bed not quite to our liking but still acceptable for a weekend stay and the room made up for it. Very central so ideal for walks, shopping and site seeing places close by

A lovely well-kept property with character and charm. Despite a lovely large room, it still felt super cosy. Gorgeous sea views, perfect location for a quick walk into town. Book book book.

The setting and location of the hotel is amazing. A lot of work has gone into renovating and maintaining the place to be a great, relaxing holiday destination. All of the staff I interacted with were friendly and positive with a great level of customer service. My room was decently sized for just myself. I found it to be a great place when I just wanted some time to relax and read a book. My only tiny bit of criticism with the room I stayed in particularly was that there were cobwebs around the ceiling light and on part of the ceiling. I can appreciate the ceilings are pretty high, though, so they may be tricky to clean often. Definitely not a deal breaker in any stretch of the imagination. Breakfast both days of my stay were to a high quality. The options for food were also vast which is great. Service on the Monday morning when there was a menu instead of the buffet was met with speedy but good service. It’s nice that the quality of the food wasn’t compromised on at all to make it quicker getting to me.

My last minute booking for the Purbeck House Hotel proved to be perfectly timed with beautiful weather and an excellent walk to Old Harry's Rock, very much helped by some great guidance and advice from the staff.

Very nice hotel. Room spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was varied and plentiful. One thing that was not good, hotels.com advertised our room as having free breakfast included, but when booking in we were told that this was not the case. We hope that we will receive a refund from Hotels.com, as this was still advertised on their site.
