Great location and good value for money

Excellent location opposite the Basilica and within easy walking distance to attractions, bars, restaurants shops snd links to public transport . The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and very clean although a little outdated Unfortunately, the tap for the bath/shower was difficult to use as very stiff. The shower was fixed in the wall however, there was no shower curtain so had to be hand held. A good choice of foods at breakfast if early. On our second day we arrived at 9.15 and the choices were limited as the food was not replenished when finished. All in all, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend.

After finding the location of the property. It was close to the public transport system with connections to rail station. The property staff were friendly and answered all our questions. The hotel and room were very clean and comfortable. I will recommend this location to family and friends if they travel to and stay in Padua.

Adequate hotel in good location.

The hotel is well situated and the bed was comfortable but the a/c had been switched off so the room got stuffy, airless and too warm making for a difficult night’s sleep. There were also mosquitoes that bit my wife and I throughout the night. The breakfast was adequate but the croissants were hard and a little stale.

As everyone knows the location is the best possible. I liked the decor , ac worked well, beds were comfortable. The parking is a problem in the city center but the staff could do a better job to help customers. For example they could inform you that for a few minutes you could park in front of their garage, then provide you with a map( instead of just a typed paper with instructions of where to park); we were driving around for an hour and couldn’t find the recommended parking space then we drove back to the hotel and then the staff came out to help( phone from USA was not working here) The breakfast was very basic and probably the worst In a string of hotels we have visited this summer; I would prefer to pay 10 euros more and have a nicer breakfast with fresh fruits , better coffee etc. The price of the hotel was very low by comparison; the view from the hotel was great; it looks like it was renovated not long ago I would like to mention the helpful Eloy who is from Peru and went out of his way to help us. I would stay again here😊

Loved Padova, and 5 stars for the Hotel Donatello!

Sadly, out of all the photos my wife and I took of our stay in this very pretty and historical city, somehow, we skipped taking photos of the hotel, and of our room. But suffice to say, it was a GREAT stay, and we would highly recommend this charming hotel to everyone! The entire staff, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the wait staff running the buffet breakfast, were wonderful. Yet, regarding breakfast; the only negative, was that it was ‘okay’ – adequate. The room was fairly spacious, same with the bathroom, and the view looked out to 'The Basilica of St. Anthony' (Basilica di Sant'Antonio di Padova). If you pay a fee, you can see the tomb of St. Anthony, and this, should not be missed! You don't have to be a Catholic to appreciate the quiet beauty, the grandeur of the Basilica and St. Anthony's tomb. What is also good about Donatello Hotel, is its proximity to very good cafes and restaurants, parks and great walks. And looking out, right below our room, was a very good restaurant. We went back to eat there 4 nights in a row! Also, the University of Padua Botancial Gardens should not be missed, and the hotel is also within walking distance to some major shopping areas - which my wife absolutely loved! She returned to America with boxes of Venchi Gourmet Chocolates (lucky family, friends, and neighbors) and more clothes. Now, how she crammed everything into her overpacked suitcase, was beyond me - but where there is the will of my wife – there is a way!

The best part about staying in this hotel was that it was so central with access to the center, the big churches, cathedrals and parks. The breakfast was delicious with the best croissants I've ever tasted and great coffee! I loved the charm of this older hotel. The worst was the front desk! The man who first greated us seemed jaded and arrogant. Maybe he was weary of the long, busy tourist summer season that seemed to be unending in spite of autumn. The other guys were very friendly, but gave us poor advice. We wanted to see the lecture hall where Galileo taught and the man sent us to a totally bogus museum that was difficult to find. In general, I found them careless and lazy in trying to understand and direct us. Also, it was definitely a problem that their English and my Italian was so limited. It sounded like they understood, and they spoke clearly enough, but I realized much to my disappointment that they obviously had not understood my requests. Also, trying to follow the map he gave us was impossible. Everything was so tiny and confusing. Trying to use Google Maps was also a nightmare, because I lost service every 10 seconds and it redirected me, and so I kept going circles. Very frustrating.
