Disappointing service that does not match the Pullman brand
My family booked two rooms (2 adults and one 17-year-old) through Hotels.com, with payment upon arrival. After a very long and exhausting journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, a delayed flight, and more than three hours in a taxi to Vung Tau, we arrived at the hotel expecting a professional and welcoming experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The reception staff was rude and unwelcoming. They initially prepared invoices for two rooms and assigned us rooms far apart, despite it being clear that we were one family. Only after we explicitly said that we would pay for both rooms together and requested rooms close to each other did they reconsider.
We were also asked to pay extra for breakfast for our 17-year-old. According to Hotels.com, when two adults book one room, breakfast is included. This was not explained clearly in advance. The receptionist said they would discuss this with the manager, but no one followed up with us. We had to go back to the front desk ourselves, only to be told that nothing would change.
The overall service level was poor, even compared to much more modest hotels. Breakfast was particularly disappointing and absolutely not worth the price of 530,000 VND per person. The quality and selection did not match the cost or the hotel’s claimed standard.
The room itself was spacious but cleanliness was inconsistent. The sofa had visible stains and lamps covered in dust.
