Welcoming staff. Warm in the room and bathroom. A powerful modern shower. Nice toiletries. A hairdryer. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water. A comfortable bed with high quality bedlinen, soft towels. We did not have breakfast, but it is available for £10.Bala lake is not far, we had breakfast in The Loch cafe - recommend!

Car parking onsite super as arrived late Had attic room but it was good, and not tiny as expected for single room, would have liked a small chair but just sat on the bed - no big deal.. Would have liked true coffee packet and asked for swop decaffinated one but they had none despite extensive looking - offered for me to have breakfast coffee in lieu. Ideal place en route for me, welcome super and old worlds Hotel wonderful, thank you very much .

We had an event cancelled by a local venue 24 hours prior to check in due to a very sad and unexpected death, so understandably we didn't fancy driving 4 hours for no reason. Spoke to a lady on the phone at the hotel who said they can't process refunds as Expedia manage everything, but agreed to it if Expedia could do that. They absolutely could but during this process Malady, the hotel supervisor ultimately declined to offer a refund. This is such a sad and exceptional circumstance that I am now out of pocket for, because they seem more interested in lining their pockets than showing compassion.

Our time in Bala was brilliant and the White Lion Royal Hotel was wonderful. Chris greeted us and immediately helped us with a flat tire situation. Jenene served us two delicious meals from their cafe. This 600 year old historic hotel is cared for well. Our bathroom was updated and the bed was very comfortable. Five stars all around!
All signage is in English and Welsh.
