Room is nicely appointed and the bathroom was very, pleasant, fully updated and a roomy, it was FAR from being a postage stamp like many in Israel. Hotel conveniently located a few minute walk from Damascus gate. Breakfast buffet was a bit on the sad side- lacked both in quality and in number of choices.

Great staff and pool, rooms require modernisation

Staff very friendly and helpful. The pool is very good and well looked after. The rooms are spacious but very tired. The bathroom required complete modernisation, it was almost impossible to have a shower and it was virtually a drip coming out and hard to control the temperature.

Friendly staff and great location

The hotel is in the Arab quarter of Jerusalem, which means that shops and restaurants are open on Fridays and Saturdays. The reception staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. No complaints about the room or condition. Rooftop swimming pool would be great when the weather is warmer. Nearby there is the wonderful Armenia Ceramic Workshop, perfect for gifts. And to eat there is the American Colony and the Jerusalem Hotel, the staff at the latter are lovely. For decent coffee try Nordic Coffee, just up the road towards the American Colony or the Educational Bookshop in the other direction towards the Old City.

Good Hotel can be better.

The Hotel is old and there were some issues like water pressure electricity failure and slow elevators. TV is old. The Staff was reasonable but not so attentive. Calls for room service went unattended. Breakfast was decent. Location is good.

Comfortable hotel near Damascus gate

It was a very comfortable stay in Jerusalem. The room size was reasonable and in general it is clean and tidy. There is also a swimming pool on the rooftop but unfortunately it was empty and not open, probably because it is winter.

Disaster

One of worst SO-CALLED 5star hotel I have ever stayed. The staff is not helpful at all. They have a guide book in the room said if needed you may ask for a shaving kit. But when I call the reception they gave me a straight NO without hesitation. Maybe the guide book i s just a joke. I stayed there for 3 nights，for the first two nights，there is a bottle of free water yet nothing on the 3rd night. The reception said it was a mistake that they gave me water which is shocking to me! 5 star hotel without water is another funny fact. This reflects the management behind the hotel is a complete mess. Furthermore I don't know why there is always some kind of machine in the pool the whole time I stayed. So I didn't went in. After I check out, I discovered there is a strange USD 1.00 charged on my Visa card, but the staff told me they did not charge me anything with the card. I called two times. 1st time hotel say their system is not open they can not check for me,second time they say they are too busy to check for me. until now I did not receive any explaination. it is like steal money for their own pocket.

This hotel was a good choice for my stay in Jerusalem. Just a few minutes walk to the old city. [The pool which is a feature of the advertising looks lovely with its vantage point but was not open for swimming due to no lifeguard on duty.]
