Ill go elsewhere next time

At first I thought it was going to be a great place they were very great changing our stay from march to april because they changed the surgery date. First impressions of the room, there was a shopping bag taped over the smoke detector, Because the office chair was broken, we could not stand on it to remove it. We did go down the desk and let them know, she said she would have someone remove it the following day. The next morning when we left for surgery, I asked that we get a different office chair so I could sit and work when we got back to the room. I was told no they had no extra rooms. I said I wasn't asking to move rooms I just wanted a chair to sit at the desk. I suggested maybe they would have a folding chair; I was told they didn't have one. Very disappointing, not a good representation for Sanford.

We won’t be returning

Check in and room was fine. In a previous visit, I gave the hotel a good report. It was much improved from a few years ago. Some areas of concern during this stay. At breakfast, the juice dispenser still hadn’t been fixed from a month ago. There was no butter. I asked about it and there still was no butter for the second breakfast. Something more concerning came up during stay. On the first day of our stay, housekeeping knocked on the door mid afternoon. I called out that we didn’t need housekeeping. The second morning, housekeeping knocked on the door at 9 am. We were walking to the door and the maid was already using her key to open the door. She said that she wasn’t told if we had checked out already. (We didn’t ask for our room to be made up when we checked in.) This seems like very unusual behaviour by housekeeping. It seemed like they want to get into the room, but why? We’re concerned about items being removed from our room while we’re away. Apparently, there’s a new housekeeping service, along with new ownership. I think that we’ll avoid this hotel in the future. Peace of mind is worth a lot!

Not a good experience

This is will be a "one and done" stay for us. When we got there to check in the front desk clerk was having a private conversation with another guest, not helping them with anything hotel related, she did not acknowledge that I was even there & kept talking. There conversation continued for 15 minutes, at that time I interrupted and asked if we could check in. She said she was helping another customer, at which time that person said "we can finish our conversation later" and walked away. I handed her my ID & credit card, she held out her hand, said nothing. She did not apologize, say anything else or ask any information from me. As she handed me the room key she said I upgraded you, nothing else. I did not ask for this, nor need it. And let me say it was NOT and upgrade. We had been traveling for 5+ hrs after a full work day & it was late. When we got to our room the door was open, the deadbolt was engaged so the door would not close. When we went in, it was obvious the room had not been vacuumed. There was a pile of dirt/sand on the floor between the beds and other debris scattered throughout the room on the carpet. We were exhausted & did not want to deal with the front desk person & having to move rooms, as were leaving early in the morning and wanted to get some rest. Lastly, the hot breakfast items were cold & hard(sausage). This was not a good experience. We will not be returning but hopefully with this information you can make the needed improvements for future guests

Ok

It was ok. The shower didn’t work very well so the water pressure was pretty bad. The sink dripped and walls were thin so you could hear everything in the hallways. The beds were comfortable and it was ok for our one night stay. I’d recommend doing some maintenance in the rooms to remedy some of the little things

We had the same gentleman check us in and out and he was very rude. Took my ID to check us in and hand me both my ID and room keys and said "here." I had to ask if we were all good to go and he replied with a snotty yes. When check out he all he said was "done." When it came to the rooms yhe bed was hard and all of the towels in the room had red stains on them.

Greatly improved!

We had stayed at this hotel a number of years ago. The hotel was needing some attention. We were somewhat hesitant to book at this hotel again. We decided to try it again because the reviews were quite positive. We were pleasantly surprised. The beds had been replaced and were very comfortable. It looked like the flooring had been replaced as well. Very nice! The only issue that we encountered was, during the first night, the room temperature was hard to set at a comfortable level. The second night wasn’t an issue. Normally, this kind of issue doesn’t resolve itself. I can’t figure out how, but we were able to set the temperature at a perfectly comfortable level for the second night. Breakfast was good.

Excellent customer service!

Nice hotel! Clean, good breakfast, comfortable beds,but the customer service was by far the best I've experienced anywhere in a very long time. Friendly, personable and attentive. When we left my husband didn't have his phone, thinking he left it in the room we called the hotel. The front desk employee was great, they offered to go right to our room to look for it. I quickly got a call back saying it was found. They didn't see bothered or put out by doing this for us. Good, friendly customer service is really hard to find these days and I am impressed with the two employees that helped us at check in and check out! Treat them well so they stay, they're a great asset to your business :) I wish more people realized a little effort goes a long way and took pride in their role.
